A Poem by APoetsMuse
"

memory, break up

"

You walked right in, turned my world upside down,
You said I should be happy, that I shouldn’t frown.
How can I smile when you won’t let me go?
Give me some room, a place to grow.
I won’t complain or remind you of our recent past,
You’ll be a distant memory, which was never meant to last.
I gave you my wisdom, my honor and my undying Faith,
Yet It was all for nothing, cause to you it was just a waste.
A waste of time that I could have cherished,
But now the memory of you will perish.
No more I’m sorry, forgive me or please understand,
I’m leaving now. So pick up the pieces where they land.
I might have never been of any importance to you,
But know deep in your heart I was always true.
I stood patient in all that we went through,
Hoping that one day you would see it too.
But now it’s done and I’ll walk away,
No feelings of regret, no more to say.
For the dream of you and I will evaporate in time,
Oh how I should have known, I should have seen the sign.
