Ugly Girl

Ugly Girl

A Poem by Lauren Applegrove

Ugly Girl

In my bed I silently weep,
until at last I fall asleep.
All the time it seems,
I'm only happy in my dreams.
Not wanting to I wake up,
full of disgust I throw up.
At school my classmates point and sneer,
I hear them whisper, "the ugly duck is here".
Some approach me from the back,
when we're alone they attack.
They punch and kick and pull my hair,
one gives me a hard shove down the stair.
Something's broken, something's wrong,
I cry out as the school bell gongs.
My teachers lie when they call me a pearl,
cause no one loves the ugly girl.

I agree with the comment below - you painted a good scene although not a nice one but people need to hear how their bullying hurts! Good message

I see you complemented the piece with rhyme! Its actually a good one, though we look forward to seeing more of your work!!
You painted the whole scene with your magical, poetic brushes; l feel sorry for the ugly girl!!
Keep penning!!
