Rose Tainted Spectacle

Rose Tainted Spectacle

A Poem by April Child

Each time i allow

my mind to drift in

retrospect, regrets

gather like starlings

in the dusk sky.

Memories tainted rose

take their own shape

and imagination

runs amok leaving

wagging fingers

in its wake.

Some memories do have that effect. We should try to remember only the good times, but of course we can't. Our own conscience and our own regrets keep those cringe-worthy moments stored on replay in our minds, whether we want them or not! Some good imagery in this poetic piece!

You've created pictures 'pon my inner eyelids.. can see what you saw when writing, your descriptive power is incredibly distinct . Beautifully soft phrasing: '.. regrets ~ gather like starlings ~
in the dusk sky. '

Well said my dear...and so very true. Your words hold wisdom and great imagery. ~Sharon

Hindsight is always 20/20, but looking back it is still a bit fuzzy.
How many times in our lives do we look back and wish we had done things differently.
