The slow blink of an eye . . . a breath held slightly too long . . . a single drop of water cascading from a tap to the bottom of a sink . . . the tense supercharged air when you're watching a rain storm approaching you over the ocean, and you silently watch as the rain seemingly walks right up to you (just before it swallows you) . . . the quiet moments in life always speak the loudest--that's what I see when I read this.

This wise senryu reads like a commentary on either haiku or senryu (the distinction is slippery) -- on what the intuitive point of the 5-7-5 is (even tho' many haiku-ists now bend the dang syllabiic rule to boot). In essence: NOW is all there is; and pure writing is about ITSELF.
