Ties..

Ties..

A Poem by Arabdha

Often young
I was told...

Of friendships that last forever..
beyond the definitions that
bind age and time...

from the summer haze
to the happy tidings of youth..
from the glory of bright meadows
to the lump of bones that lay in the dust
I could tell every second that was..
replay and relive
all that you were..

so I didn't quite understand..
when they said pay your respects
and bid adieu..
cause when I looked back..
you stood there smiling..
the way you always were !

Very interesting write. I like the format, it almost felt intentionally choppy as if you started to get a flow going but wanted the reader to slow down. I don't know if it was intentional but it was awesome :) well written. Keep writing, keep learning, keep improving.

Yes, sometimes they just stand there and smile...and sometimes they take your hand and lead you away from the abyss...it is true that some people stay with you as long as you live...as a warm hug, or as a watchful gaze, or a voice in your head, or as a familiar smell, or a pat on your back, or as the occasional skip in your heartbeat.
Thank you for writing this..
