"Don't get smart with me kid." "Stop laughing old man." "..." "Ow! What was that for! That hurt." "Respect your elders." " What's too respect? You're the one that keeps saying you're young at hear-OW!" "Even then I'm olda' than you." "Pssh, sure." "You'll cherish 'dese moments later kid, ya'll see. Maybe then you'll understand what I mean." "..." "Hey Jack what's up, what's got'cha head in the clouds huh?" "Ah, nothing George, just my family." "What 'bout them?" "Ya, know, my Granddad, there's this thing he'd say I never understood." "What was that?" "Nothing, nothing, it's not important." "Sure it is, besides nothing else to do here. Ah!" "Hey, hey hey, don't move, you don't want your wound to re-open." "Jack, you gotta stop worryin' 'bout me, I'm screwed...harder than a nail in a headboard, you know it's internal." "...Don't say that." "It's true." "You don't know that." "Yeah I do, man I can feel it inside a' me. I'm gonna die." "..." "Hey, hey, Jack, kid, man, dude, death's not the worst thing to happen to us." "What am I supposed to do?" "What? You gotta speak up." "I said: WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO! WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO TELL THEM? YOUR FAMILY? WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH MYSELF?" "....Live." "I can't, not if I'm going to be alone." "You won't be." "You won't be there." "Other's care 'bout you Jack." "So? What does that matter?" "It matter's a ton, it means I don't have to worry about what'll happen to ya' when I'm gone." "Don't say that George." "I told you, I'm gonna die, I'm not gonna be 'round much longer." "Stop it. Help will be here any minute, you're gonna be okay." "No. I'm moving on, you've gotta accept that." "They said three hours I'm sure that's passed by now." "Jack-" "George. Stop. Don't say anything." "Jack you're sounding hysterica-" "Shut up." "Jack-" "STOP! YOU'RE GONNA BE OKAY!" "..." "George?" "..." "G-George?" "..." "GEORGE!" "-ey over here! I think I heard them!" "You're too late." "Hey, take my hand, kid." "George died." "I'm sorry kid." "No you're not, you don't even know him." "Okay...take my hand." "No." "Wha-?" "Leave me." "Kid, come on, is this what that George kid would want." "No." "Then come o-" "It's what I want." "Ok uhm, you wait here." ~~~ "Hey Bob, what's the hold up?" "The kid's not leaving, his friend died." "Hmmm, tough huh, get the rope, let me see what I can do." ~~~ "Who are you?" "A friend, no need to be hostile." "My last 'friend' died." "I know it's tough, bu-" "Yeah, yeah he'd want me to live, I don't care." "Look kid-" "Stop calling me kid, I'm not that young." "Okay fine then, what's your name?" "...Jack." "Okay Jack, I know what it's like to lose people. I lost a lot of friends in the war-" "You were a soldier?" "Yes, okay but the point is, even when you think the worlds a total dick and you wanna throw in the towel, you can't cause you're the only way they can ever live on. Through what you do." "...Just cause the stars don't shine, but that don't mean they ain't there." "What?" "Nothing." "Here's the rope!" "Thanks Bob, okay Jack, take the end, we'll pull you out, okay?" "...Okay." "Good boy."
