Chair Man

Chair Man

A Poem by Archia
"

I saw a man moving chairs today and so ended up writing this as I watched him.

"

This man that’s there what does he do,

Moving the chairs, not giving a clue

Perhaps he's making it nice and neat,

Straightening it up before taking a seat

Or maybe there's some motive in mind,

Something to do to pass the time?

Even then it could be more,

Something that's itching at his core

And now I see him walking away,

Not sitting down, he's not going to stay

He will not see his efforts rewarded,

As many sit down in his neat order

So why he did it I do not know,

But for five minutes there was a show.

For five minutes there was somebody doing something to watch. Excellent.

I really enjoyed this. Most of us wouldn't notice the man moving chairs, but you not only noticed but spent time pondering the reasons behind it. I like the way you have made something unusual out of an ordinary activity.
