A Somber Reverie

A Somber Reverie

A Poem by Arcus

She is there, in the fringes of my mind
Standing by a small stream, at the edge of my focus
Her blurred form radiates with luminescence
Like a soft moonlight through frosted glass

Stepping out into the shallow water,
She begins to sway, as if spellbound by a pleasant tune
Then, as with the grace of a swan,
Her feet begin to move with unbridled finesse,
Sending her into a nymph-like ballet that could eradicate all hatred in the world

Her reflection in the tranquil water only serves to heighten her immaculate splendor;
A duality that bestows wonder on my very being
In my dreams, this is how I see her:
Poised and perfect; a masterful painting,
Depicting all of my hopes and desires in ardent fervor

Oh, what I would give to dance with her...
