Lost Souls

Lost Souls

A Poem by Aria

The ones willing to be 'free', they are the dead
The ones terrified of their will, they are the caged
The ones who you cannot see, they are the ones who silently bleed
The ones who fear their own souls, they are the raged

They enter their own hell once asleep
They do not see the devils in the light
They feel the bitter coldness, the ghosts' creep
They scream, they cry, these demons they cannot fight

Believe in what you hear
They speak to you what has, to them, been told
Believe in their voice. It is not what you should fear
They cry silent tears, bleed unseen blood, shiver unfelt cold

The ones who listen to your breaths
In the fall of night, you feel them under your skin
The ones who died a thousand deaths
Kiss you goodnight, for the forgiveness of their sins

I see them in my dreams, when I close my eyes
One, my lover gone, waits for me until my body dies

There is a lot of depth to this poem. It is not one where you just float on its surface as your read it. Rather, it beckons you deeper to explore all its undercurrents. I really enjoyed this!

I was never too sure about the end of this. I was trying to put some 'happyness' to the poem. Since I'm known for tragedy by all my friends. So, I'm not sure. The original read without the last line but I still think it goes together.

About
I don't do well with talking about myself so I will simply say that my writing sets the stage for my imagination to play. But more than that, every piece I write, whether a poem or novel, is a bit of .. more..
