In The Eye of a Hurricane

In The Eye of a Hurricane

A Poem by Aria Snyder

Some things are better left kept unseen

With secret figures of thoughts

Blowing over seas

Of fragments

The lovely lost love of years ago

Changing and caring for

Love filled with

Hate

It’s better not to see the world

For what it can always be

People being selfish

And me just being me

These lines are like a spy

Showing only what they want you to know

For you to look forward within

You can see what it can truly show

The smell of sweet victory

After finding out within

And then you end up finding out

You never did truly win

Irony is a nasty thing

For it is never seen in one form

It is always over in one woosh

Like it was never there before

So when you think irony is finally fading away

Think of it living, and thriving in nature

And how you can’t ever escape

The eye of a hurricane
