The Path Became the Ocean

A free verse poem written not in purpose of being a poem but just for the purpose of putting a meaning to a painting I did. Thought I'd share.

And we would walk the streets at night
and in our own silence
we faded off
on our own
and the very path beneath my feet
became the ocean
space
swirling until I was lost
within it.
And the stars above
did everything but judge
as I let my hair fall
and my eyes close.
And I began to spin,
feel the water on my skin
and I was lost.
Within it.
And I will never forget
the look in your eyes
when you caught me dancing
that night and I could not stop,
the water wouldn't let me.
And you caught me
in your arms.
And I was in love.
