The Pain RemainsA Poem by Arlene FleisherWritten 5/10/06 from my thoughts and feelings after sitting outside, sharing a cup of coffee with our dog at 5am... body wracked with the pains of rheumatoid arthritisAwake Alone in my pain While the whole house sleeps Oblivious. The hooting of an owl For company. Does he feel my pain? He sounds like he does. Small comfort But it's there Sharing my tears. And then... he's gone And the pain remains. © 2008 Arlene FleisherFeatured Review
