And what of Kings and I....?

And what of Kings and I....?

A Poem by Art

And what of Kings and I

As we both do grapple with the skies

Your palace filled with wealth beyond my means

My Hymns caressed on a passing of the moon

Pebbles within the hours of glass

Laid before our very eyes

Measured are Kings and I

Measured in glory and poverty

If our treasures were of sand and heat

From within barren land

Where glory is sheltered

What of Kings and I

If life gave us the only ability

But to stand within streets and beg

While sitting upon the cold and blinded

By the darkness of realities

Where would his highness of the rich and free

Guide me

Should I be slaved

With my brothers and my sisters

To only be fed the morsels that cover our bones

Shall I escape the cities and fly upon the mountains

In rebel camps to fight against oppression

Screaming to the sun and his sky

Wondering why

I oppose thee

And what of Kings and I

Shall we never find each other?

Or will I cross borders to search for another

Enter camps of lost and tired children of earth

Carry my will to touch the mind

From nowhere known to kings

Panning gold of a fool who laughs in court

As jesters cry wishing to grasp of his imagination wild

Buried along paths that one scribbles

Books and fairytales

Declarations of royalty inherited

For the Prince and Queen have their pedestals

The king sits upon a worldly throne

While I with my poetic form

Of travels never seen

Question

And what of Kings and I

And how is it

That Angels know me

And my wings made of pen

For I am Neither Sheppard nor Man of cloth

Though my words seem to have fallen on deaf ears

As rivers overflow while climate soars

Beauty mixes pills of chemo

While dry the mind of ink has become

And silence unborn is the choice of a world

Where Galaxies of Nebula await the Ark of Noah

Soon to fall the sands of Mars

Joining the earthen spheres

And all one can do is watch other tears

Destined to plea upon a reflection

And what of Kings and I

I am familiar with Karunesh's, "Ali Baba," as it is on one of the ten volumes of Buddha Bar CD's that I own. It's a beautiful song, and it's a wonderful compliment to set the mood for the poem which you have written. I also like the photograph between each stanza as it also lends to the environment you are trying to create. They help the reader visualize the things of which you speak.

The message itself, What of Kings and I, if all else were stripped away, is very poignant. The underlying answer bespeaks the real sadness of our world and how we treat one another.

Great job!

This is so deep Art, truly magical how you bring the reader to awareness, and points to think about. Today is all too obvious, everything is easy, but in this poem we are brought back to the many ways in which our ancestors fought, and where there was still a precious value in things. I have been often in this region, I know the richness of their spirit. How poor they may be, it can overcome anything. A wonderful write Art. Even as the music as usual ♫ Excellent.

With this poem i know you are feeling what is happening at present with the world, this emotion evolution taking over mankind, we the simple, we the open and the willing to lay our hearts out for others to consume and do with what they will. But I hear all of your words that are no longer words but now thoughts come to life as they blend with my own. Keep guiding and know that many will follow, for words that are inspiring even the harshest realities can be perceived as inspiration. Thank you for every word.

This poem is simply magic. Brought me to a different world, to a different time. The music, and your comparison of the two worlds make us think. "The king sits upon a worldly throne While I with my poetic form Of travels never seen Question And what of Kings and I? And what of Us and Others? And what of Love and Hate? Beautiful piece, Art.

Beautiful in every way. I need to sit with this.

i love how the world music has become so popular . The last two wars have brought an awareness of islam to the west...Great than the dehumanization of their religion has been a surge in middle eastern interest .Belly dancing , food , music has grown.

I'd love to see a contest about this.

I appreciate the way just put the questions out there. You're not pretending to have any answers of even take any guesses. And again, the music, the imagery, the well thought out words lend themselves to offering your message as multi-experiential. Thank you.
