Don't Hate the player...A Poem by Art
Don't hate The Player
By Art Sun Rated "PG" by the Author. Last edited: Friday, December 24, 2010 Posted: Monday, February 25, 2008 Immigration is an issue that just doesn't seem to go away. I am in no way sympathetic to either side, all I wish for is the solution. Let us see if the candidates are able to do more than just reach for votes. Don’t hate the player
With issues surrounding our country, there is one issue that stirs more than questions and answers, it stirs crime and hate to the point of disillusion and leaves us without the solution to this very large and important problem. Immigration is a topic that lingers and unfortunately has been with us for a long time. I find it unusual that when votes are needed candidates seek the Hispanic vote and yet no one has fixed this problem other than the installation of a fence along our borders. I wrote this as a voice from the immigrant and though it displays some harshness it is in no way my acceptance of illegal crossings or illegal status of anyone who lives within our country under those circumstances. There is more than division when hate begins to flow from an issue that government and politicians have known of and yet have not been able to resolve. Yes both sides are at fault from politics to the illegals but I have stood within the workforce and seen the agents who drag off workers and this was thirty years ago. As a United States citizen and professional within the economy I too wish for this solution to a problem that evades us. Don’t hate the player They won’t Fix the fence And They can’t fix the laws Don’t hate the player He didn’t make the rules Look to the top Who's calling the shots? Democants Republicants It isn’t something new Just like a game show You don’t have a clue Jeopardy, password, running man Their crossing that river Along our borderland Leaving their Family Country And The life of the poor Everyday Homeland Security Finding more and more FBI DEA CIA And the Border Patrol Placing a badge and a gun On the Hispanic land Tex-mex knows their lingo Prisoners for the gringo Don’t hate the player Why not Find a way Fix the fence Or Fix the laws Don’t hate the player Taking a Walk through New York Mainstream America US of A Saturated with millions from Kansas to LA Wondering of welfare And the streets that they share Pinchi Mexicanos Gang bangers they say While farmers are looking For Pepe and Jose The coyotes are laughing What a joke Can’t find a worker To hammer the nails To many US loafers Lazy gringos Computer heads Don’t hate the player Hire Brazeros to wire up that fence Dam Mexicants Crossing Haitiants Dominicants Even Salvadorants Cause they Work just like slaves Only they cross the deserts No ships and no chains Pinchi gringos Paying less than the wage Yelling and screaming This is your opportunity Land of the free Home of the brave Filling their pockets and banking on me Don’t hate the player They can’t fix the flaws Why not Find a way Fix the fence Or Fix the laws The sands of Death Valley Reach all the way home As Pancho Is nowhere to be found La migra just lost Another chase And still they keep crossing Getting caught on the run
Don’t hate the player Load up that bus Send them back where they came from 1954 Illegal people dead through 2004 Each and every year There’s 300 more Don’t hate the player Us of A Land of the brave Home of the free Opportunity waiting for me Remember 911? How many hispanics Made that last run? Don’t hate the player Given Citizenship within A casket Sent to Iraq And then on to Afghanistan making it back in a body bag Political frustration Hate filled Situation Stupid immigration Illegal Legal hidden clause Quit yelling at me Fix the fence or Fix the laws Don’t hate the player.
