Idríel ’The Fair’ (The House of Finarfin), a grandchild of queen Arwen Undomiél ‘The Evenstar’ and king  Aragorn II ‘Elessar’, and a great-grandchild of Galadriel ‘Altariel’ royal princess of the Noldor of Tirion, daughter of Finarfin son of Finwë the King.

Idríel's mother was Ethuilfaer, meaning spirit of spring (Sind. 'Ethuil' means spring , Sind. 'Faer' or 'Fairë' means spirit).

Ethuilfaer (she was often compared to one of the Vala, Nessa 'The Dancer', thus she was often called also ‘the lightfoot’) was the eldest of the daughters of Arwen and Aragorn. She was a free spirit, even childlike and many said that a likeness of Galadriel was on her. She had golden hair and most of all she loved Mearas, the Line of Horse-princes, which they believed to be descended from an animal brought to Middle-earth by one of the Valar during the Elder Days. She often wandered to the plains of Rohan and there she walked with the horses which she loved. There in the fair and generous country with full of grassland she was loved by a noble man of the Rohirrim, The Riders of Rohan with the title of Eorlingas, the Sons of Eorl. He had brown hair and blue eyes.

Ethuilfaer chosen a mortal life because she loved Middle-earth and later a man of the Rohirrim to whom she gave birth to one child, a daughter whom she loved perhaps more than anything. Idríel The Fair she was called because she had golden hair like the Anor (the Sun). Many believed that Ethuilfaer and her daughter Idríel had met (one of the Vala), Vána 'The Ever Young' at the time when she had come once again to the forests of Oromë. They said that her (Vána) blessed them with her eternal light and because of that they became friends with all birds and wherever they went, birds sang to them.

Only one of the daughters of Arwen and Aragorn chosen no mortal life, she passed over Sea to the Undying Lands to see the light of Valar, a few years after the death of her mother. There she finally, for the first time met her grandfather, Elrond.
