Stone

Stone

A Poem by AshleeKayann
"

Words heal. -8/12/11-

"

Alone with my thoughts,

the silence is stone.

This is all I imagined would be.

And our last words echo

like hauntings untold;

it's the story of love's final plea.

Now my soul turns to ice

as I sit here in stone

with no one to come rescue me.

But the guilt is all mine,

for love ran out of time.

This the price that I pay to be free.

Quite creepy, for some reason I couldn't help but imagine a young girl/woman, crouching on the ground, fog filling the deep dark sky, her hands covered in bright red blood - the only colour visible. :)
I loved it! Absolutely great poem, it has an eeriness to it (unless it's just my mind that wanders onto more negative situations), and the rhyming scheme just adds perfectly to the effect it gives.
I'm putting it in my library.
Anyway, cheers and have a good day!

Freedom isn't so good when you are use to having a warm body near. The poem told a sad tale with a strong ending. A excellent poem.
