Nature's Love Song

Nature's Love Song

A Poem by Ashley H.
"

I love nature and I also wrote this one when I was 16 and only thinking about romance.

"
I can see you standing there,
how I want to join you.

To roam together in the wooded areas,
the sky as our canopy.

To hear the birds sing,
and to watch the flower bloom.

I can only do this in my dreans.
Oh how I wish they were real!

Why cant they be?
Why must they stay undone?

I have to tell you,
of all these emotions inside.

Will you laugh or will you cry?
Will you just turn and walk away?

Do you wish to do the same things
with me as I want to do with you?

The worst is know knowing,
this gnaws at me inside.

I should confess,
but will things be the same?

Why should I even worry about this now?

Its just this idiotic love.

But one look at you and it's all worth it,
I remember why.

I should let you on,
let you figure things out on your own.

Then soon you will be longing too,
take long walks under the harvest moon.

Breath in the air from the Russian olive trees,
me at your side.

Hear the melody of the wind
as it sighs through the trees.

We could eat the wild strawberries that grow plentiful
they are so good and sweet to the taste.

Of course strawberries aren't the only think I'd like to taste.

I wonder how you would taste.
Will you be sweet or tart?

Either way,
it will be to my liking.

Oh, how I long for you.

Now the snow falls softly and I can see,
there we stand together, you and me.

I can not wait to meet you there.
At our place with out a care.

You are so beautiful,
how I love you.

No one can compare,
I am sorry if I stare.

It's just that your eyes...
they are so...so light blue.

I fall for eyes.
I fell for yours.

So azure blue.
An autumn sky with a soul.

Your eye catches mine.
You smiled at me!

Not just any smile.
It's a smile saying you know I think about you.

It's almost as if you're telling me
you think of me too.  Do you?

You motion with your head towards the woods.
Where we can be alone.

I meet you behind the behind the big old oak tree.
The snow falls softly.

In the sky, a spot where there are no clouds, a full moon shines.
A  brightly polished pearl on a velvet sky.

My, you are tall.  I like your tallness.
Such a contrast to my shortness.

I can hardly breath.

I look up at you.
You look down at me.

There is no smile on your face,
but an emotion that take takes my breath away.

I give a faint smile,
all that I can muster.

Kiss me.  Please.

You put your right hand on my left cheek,
you stroke my cheek with you thumb.

You lower your face to mine and meet my lips.
You kiss me.

A light but long kiss.

You are so tall, I put my hands on your shoulders and stand on my tip toes,
just as you put your other hand on the other side of my face.

This kiss holds promise of what is to come.

A life of more than just friendship.
We will share our deepest secrets with out being afraid.

We will lie on the grass together
and watch the stars.

We will walk when it is clear and cold,
in the light of the full moon.

These things, I look forward to.

Question. Is this too cute. Could it use a rewrite to make it a tad more grown up? I wrote this before I had any relationships. Now I'm married and feel this could use some mature edits.
