Broken Bits

Broken Bits

A Poem by ♥ Ari Skye ♥

There are these broken bits, lying on the ground.

No one is sure what they are made of, no one heard a breaking sound.

Bits that are largely broken, you can sort of make out a shape.

Bits that are shattered, they’ve left no past trace.

To someone’s first look, they are just broken bits.

Parts of something that could easily be fixed.

There are broken bits, lying on the ground.

Those parts are what is left of me,

I heard the silent breaking sound.

The larger parts are broken memories, good times I swore exist.

The shattered bits are what remain of my heart.

Two decades of breaking, it finally fell apart.

Are you happy with what you see?

All these broken parts,

This is what you left of me.

Some of the relationships, no matter how beautiful they might be, still have an expiration date on them. Time changes and so do people but not memories.
A poignant one.

A sad emotional write but don't ask your ex for his views, he doesn't care he's moved on. the complete breakdown of a heart that once loved dearly.
