Hobbits

Hobbits

A Poem by Ashley Armstrong

What would it be like to be a Hobbit?
To live in this world but know nothing of it
To love peace, food, and good tilled earth
To be happy from your moment of birth
To be as small as a child and eat like one too
To never lie and always be true
To live in the ground
And not make a sound
When you move in the forest
To be unique and live life with zest
What would it be like to be a Hobbit?
The Shire your home
You rarely roam
Give presents at the parties you throw
And have many a hair on your toe
Speeches are long
You love a good song
It's ale that you drink
At parties, I think
What would it be like to be a Hobbit?

As I read, I was waiting for the 'hair on the toe' and i got it!
I too wish life were as simple...

Yes, if only we could be like Hobbits. The world would be a better place
I loved Lord of the Rings and thought how beautifully they lived...loved this piece :) x

I'm glad you liked it
The Lord of the Rings fangirl is EXTREMELY excited by this poem. A strong sense of curiosity resonates throughout this poem. Good stuff.
