A Moment before Time

...that rapid and yet neverending moment before I see you...

So funny a thing really

How fast a heart might beat

A throat that is now closing

The anxiety I feel

Fingers slightly trembling

A breath out of control

An effort made to swallow

But my neck is now a knot

My stomach aches

A whirling daze

A slight wave of heat

My mind races bedazzled

So frustrated yet sweet

My chest is pounding

Hard as ever

And my voice now breaks and cracks

My eyes glitter and see a wonder

If only dreams were facts

I long to see

And hear and feel

The aura of your breeze

To touch and kiss

Your warm sweet cheeks

So tender be your kiss

And if perhaps by any chance

Our lips came up to meet

My heart would melt and knees would bend

For that kiss would be my wish
