Falling Sensations[*]

Falling Sensations[*]

A Poem by Karina Anderson

Clam-y hands graze slick, greasy hair.

Morning dew collects on the window.

Dust off my eyes, at the ceiling I stare.

Light has yet to brake, eyes droop low.

Consciousness sprinkling from my grasp.

Lazing off into a direction far from here.

Suddenly, all air is gone causing my gasp.

Jolting forward; mind is penetrated with fear.

Falling, dropping, plummeting to nothing.

Fingers stretch out for a grip, clawing.

Hit hard; hit cold; hit right into fluffing.

Bed surrounds you on all sides, harboring.

Chest shooting out and back, sides ache.

Where am I? Where have I gone?

That last drink before bed, was a mistake.

Nerves finally calm " Witness dawn.

Author's Note

Karina Anderson
These are my repetitive nights, here I try and illustrate them for you. I bring in the image, then the feelings and emotions and lastly the physical tendency so that you can sense it right along with me. That sudden fearful drop, we've all experienced it and I once read that it's the darkness trying to pull you under, but you break free, and at some point we won't be able to break free and that will be our death. I also read that it is our parallel selves, in other universes, it is us feeling their death. Coming one step closer to our own. Either way, this "Falling Sensation" is just another step closer to our ending. This is how I see it.
