Can I be Your Man?

Can I be Your Man?

A Poem by AssonanceWriter

First glance, first meeting, first talk

Instantly enemies

First test, first risk, first assignment

Instant contestant

First detention, first punishment, first redemption

Automatic archenemies

She stepped into our world and triggered our invisible romance

At first glance, to me, you weren’t really pretty

During detention, you were still just an enemy

Your talk, your stories, your frustrations’

I hear that there is someone that you are seeing

I wonder if every word that you say is about him or…

Are those words about me?

She stepped into our world and triggered our invisible romance

Even now, this girl stands innocent

At first glance, to me- this girl is very fragile

During redemption, she is my only friend

This girl listened to me even when it got boring

Till this day, the talks about us are only about us being archenemies

You walk hand in hand with him, as I walk hand in hand with her

That dress that you wear, I bought it for you when I couldn’t say sorry

Your tears, your touch, your love- when you're with him-

Do you really not think of me, then?

First glance, first meeting, first talk

Instant affection

First test, first risk, first assignment

Instant devotion

First detention, first punishment, first redemption

Automatic admiration

Can we relive our invisible romance again

This time, I will promise to say that I am sorry

Your tears, your touch, your love- let me handle them

First glance, first meeting, first talk

Can I be your man?
