Alive or Just Breathing?

Alive or Just Breathing?

A Poem by Celestine Astraea Firestorm

an unexpected colour
the ocean streams to rivulets
moonlight reflections
don't you know flickering flames burn brightest?
watching stars without you
is like watching cracks of light along the doorframe
your contemplating heartbeats monopolize me
leaving out reciprocation
an instant fire through my icy veins
basking in your indifference
defeating your words
your echoes are caught in the creases of my palm
the stars are falling outside my window
while the roses hang upside down to dry
