One Door Away From Heaven

One Door Away From Heaven

A Poem by Celestine Astraea Firestorm

the sky is translucent
and the moon is bright
walking in this open field
at quarter till twilight

the air is crisp and pure
but gelid against my skin
i reach out to touch the glimmering stars
but my fingers, they flame and singe

untouchable heavens
i reach for your hand
the atmosphere sparks with electricity
how far does this aerial expand?

i feel each element as they are awakened
earth, water, fire and air
the aura over me is overpowering
a sight like this is so rare

Bravo. excellent poem. I felt myself drawn into it from the get go. Excellent rhyme scheme. absolutely Excellent vocabulary, it really made the poem come to life. Your detail of the heavens and the elements was first rate. This is definitely one of my new favorites. Once again, Absolutely Superb. Keep up the good work, I'll be reading it.
