Perpetual

Perpetual

A Poem by Xanthous Crow
"

.

"
Go on,
Walk by,
Before I get lost in,
Those emerald eyes of yours,
Those damnable deep wells,
Of emotion and spirit.

Go on,
Forget about me, girl,
I'm afraid I've given it my all,
This workhorse is tired,
And old, and beaten,
No longer do his tricks suffice.

Go on,
Move on,
Find someone and something else,
Grab it with both hands,
And by God, don't let go,
Because things will slip if you let them.

Go on,
Flash that smile,
Pearl white masterpieces,
Leaving me reeling,
Transfixed and spellbound,
This lowly pawn, unable to move on this board.

Go on, girl,
Forget about me,
I'm no good,
Unable to stand even,
An inch against you,
Just a crack in this porcelain perfection of it all.
