I loved you once

another self explanatory

I still wake up each morning,

Turn over and look for you.

I say goodnight each night

Before I go to sleep.

I still don’t understand why

You abandoned me.

But I know as each day passes

I survive, I’ll get by.

I’m not as fragile as I used to be,

Once there was us.

Now it’s you verses me.

Life and love seem to always be unfair. It is funny we can be in love and fall into hate just as quickly. I like the feel and emotion of this poem. You told a complete story with a sad ending. The test of love is just education for us to know when true love comes our way. A outstanding poem.

I wonder if the verses is deliberate, as opposed to versus, because it's a wonderful wordplay if so and multi-layered. This is a poem of strength and character. It's filled with pain and resolve. Love this.
