A daily duly noted

A daily duly noted

A Poem by Nina Rose

A daily duly noted

If yesterday’s yesterday could speak for itself we’d drown in a world of sorrow and pity.

Our collar bones would show no hesitation and our wrists would strive for perfection. My hands would crinkle at the tops of fingers so bad that the knuckles could break if a feather fell on top of them.

And when tomorrow becomes today I will recover. I will stand strong and I will try. I will try again and again and again until my heels bleed and my lungs give out. “How do you do it… eat?”

When tomorrow becomes yesterday I will lay in bed and remind myself it’s okay. You can do it tomorrow is a new day.

But when tomorrow becomes today I will drown in a world of misery and compassion My thighs will be further apart and my wrist bones will show without permission.

If yesterday was today I’d be further than I was.
