Suppressed Emotion

Suppressed Emotion

A Poem by Brette Medb

Suppressed Emotion

Suppression, Overwhelmed

Caught in the revolution

Of shifting thoughts and emotion

No where to go, no where to hide

Just living it, drowning in it

Need to breathe, breathe the air

Anything but this confusion

Warmed to the movement

Of my mind and body

Not in pair, out of sync

Get on the same page

Demand the answers, the feeling

Everything in the end will be alright.

I think the war of heart and mind is an eternal one... one uses logic and one uses emotions... it can all be very overwhelming... a nice little right that I think we all can relate to.

a quick roller coaster ride of raw emotion done well, a fast-moving poem but it hits its target

this is great. you bring out the feeling of exhaustion and overwhelming feelings of lost hope and struggle very well.

Need to breath, breath the air

Anything but this confusion

I love those lines.

Only one thing...
I think ''breath'' is like Take one breath of air.
I think what you meant to write is ''breathe'' as in Breathe deeply.

there is always a war between our mind and heart, its we who should decide whether to follow our heart or mind, and yes at the end everything will be alright... nice poem

"Need to breath, breath the air"
is it need to breathe, breathe the air? or need some breath , breath of the air?
i think its typo, just see to that, if in case you have missed to notice.

There is a depth of feeling expressed here.. the pain of suppression... how it takes one's breath away... it lingers and leaves no place to hide. You convey this so powerfully here.

Brette, you can really feel the angst in this piece, but the ending shows hope and promise.

I know this feeling well.
Keep the focus and try your best, and be happy with that, yes.

Glad I got to read this.
Superb!
