Truth

Truth

A Poem by Dmi
"

This one wrote itself. Had to hit print.

"

Everybody wants it
Everybody asks for it
To see you write while slowly bleeding to nothing on life support
It's not like a person can miss those big eye's, seeing that big something
Everyones a fan of the poem thats so consuming you can't look away
Then they hit the "x" button, close the screen, and start to feel ashamed
They say "Thank god that was awesome, but Im happy it's not mine"
Failing to realize this outlet is a platform to escape, get some peace of mind
It's as close to vulnerable as they'll ever get, through you
The topic of conversation could be dreary, morbid or sex filled to the gills
Looking like the red light district in Amsterdam to satisfy their thrills
Just so long as it's you

We all say that we dig.....deep
Put it into word's
But we all aren't the same all the time
Maybe our writing is speaking to people, like we don't have the nerves
I can spot someone who isn't telling me the truth
They follow social conduct like anyone really gives a f**k
Scared to write something everybody's sure to hate
So they paint a pretty picture
Kind of like eating the frosting right off of the top of the cake

"I don't want these people to know" they say
Convincing themselves what the masses think, is what they should think
And they immediately lose what was special and speaking to them
Hoping to be on paper, finally free and not held in like one of life's mistakes
Out in the world it feels like a new found freedom, picture you at 16

I know so many people who go to shrinks, twisted and screwed up
Not knowing what to think
I often want to hand them a piece of paper and a pen
Sit down and drawn your heart in words
If you need me to, I'll get it for you, just let it flow my friend
We'll write this son of a gun and It'll all be bloody bleeding red
What ever it takes for you to access those feelings
To really write those things you hide deep within
I know that what I can say on paper could offend a hooker, and she's 52
I'm hoping you don't fold on me, call your shrink, and hide whats left of you
