An Obviously Educated Guess

An Obviously Educated Guess

A Poem by Robert J. Huntley

The perfect interpretation

of a lie becomes fact

etched upon a lover's side

who you already know

will be better in hindsight

The machinations of self interest

will add a false sense of depth

to the shallow simplifications

of nature's way

Even to ourselves

we must foster our delusions

of the grand experience

foraged from a life well lived

No one wants to be ordinary

except for the extraordinary

who they themselves

still hold that statement true

by changing it's definition

with their own  persistence

of thought

It is all a calamity

of the English language

that seems dead set

on ruining us all

And so without other recourse

we all shamble along

under a sky

smaller than our imaginations

yet still bigger than our vision

About
After a year long self imposed exile from Writer's Cafe I have returned. I will not be re-posting whatever pieces I lost in the great crash. If you are one of the few who read my older work, and for.. more..
