Colours of You

Colours of You

A Poem by Raven Moonchild

I've a crystal in my window,
 good feng shui and such.
It reminds me of long ago,
 when our hands would touch.
My eyes took their fill,
 of the rainbow before me.
Now, a sweet reminder on the sill,
 of what once could be.

The warmth of red,
 much like your love.
The marvel of orange,
 much like your beauty.
The cheer of yellow,
 much like your happiness.
The wisdom of green,
 much like your intelligence.
The embrace of blue,
 much like your caring heart.
The still of indigo,
 much like your calm.
The awe-inspiring of violet,
 much like your creativity.

As the light fades,
 all colour is gone.

My world black and white.

Sitting with the rope; so many braids.
I await the return of dawn.

Hoping you'll bring back the light.

This flows relatively well, and is very solemn and profound. If the "rope" imagery is implying what I think it is, then it's a little much, and a rather uncalled-for image, for there's not any hint of the poem taking such a turn. It simply appears. I'd suggest fiddling around with that line a bit more. Otherwise, well done! (the colour stanza is simply grand).

Yes. The memories of the past lost love present in some form of memento....

A very truthful piece. Relevant to all who have suffered on the altar of heartbreak. The love brings the light and the loss of it brings the menacing, lonely dark. And that's when the mind starts thinking of swinging ropes.

Another fine write.
