Cutter

Cutter

A Poem by Babbette Francis
"

Just random words and empathetic thoughts

"

Breathe .. Breathe ..

Don’t give up

there’s still a beat in the place

that I once sheltered a heart

Breathe

Reach, climb

Jagged edges cut and spill blood

Slices in my flesh remind me that I’m alive

And I reach for the next diamond

…Cut…

Breathe

Keep climbing

Breathe

Breathe

Author's Note

Babbette Francis
Euphoria is the feeling experienced when one cuts themselves. Stress triggers the drive to cut and get the chemical release to the brain that ultimately leads to this feeling. This practice became an epidemic mainly amount teens and young adults by 2012 and has gone back undercover where had been before the said outbreak. I just hope and pray that anyone hurting themselves will find the help they need. I would recommend prayer in times of trouble or good. But hey, that's just me.

I can remember years ago finding out one of my grandson’s had found this a way of dealing with his anxieties and hurts. I am pleased to say he is now an adult and in a far better place after receiving talking therapies. You don’t hear so much about cutting these days but I’m sure it goes on. First if your work I have read. Pleased to meet you Babette.

You are welcome....
I...this is difficult to comprehend for some reason. I need your help, for I cannot understand this strange physiology. I can understand the psychology behind it, but...why self-harm of all things?

anyways, I love the poem! It's very expressive of what my clients tell me about cutting. Excellant work, as always dear one.

Hi miss you too! Weird, I know I left a review, not just a "Hi my friend" lol
A couple things come to mind when reading this… one is the old saying "no pain, no gain" and the second is "that that doesn't kill you will only make you stronger.
