2012, the beginning of the end?

 

Flip the Earth upside down,
Let the rain fall on the moon.
Snow flurries in the milky way
Live the hellish doom
Tend your young,
Closely tuck them by your side
Men will hunt their blood,
And eat their meat to survive.
But
In the lit underground city,
An illusion of hope- St. John predicts,
Satan’s master illusion
 Marking forever, unforgiven
With the number 666.

Dear Babbette,

Humm...a bit cryptic for me. Yes, I know, 2012. There are nice images here. In particular I loved

"Flip the Earth upside down,
Let the rain fall on the moon.
Snow flurries in the milky way"

But then there are the disturbing images. I have difficulty getting caught up seriously in the 2012 thing. So the images of Satan and 666 seem a bit empty to me. However, this is definitely not your writing. It is the subject matter. Your writing is excellent. And again, I greatly enjoyed it.

I fear I have neglected the cafe for too long, but only the Almighty himself knows where the hell adults get the time to write. College is crazy.

But enough about me.

I came to review your poem.

So...

I loved it. It caught my attention from the first line. The absurdity was what drew me in. Not to mention that all things Apocalyptic are awesome. The message is rather original too, or at least how it's worded. Wonderful way to state the universal theme. ;-DD
