My symmetrical crystalA Poem by RalphyMy symmetrical crystal
I lay on this cool patch of greenish brown grass Maybe to think, rest or just to allow time to pass Above a large billowy cloud, block my access to space All the stars have vanished, kind of, sort of, without a trace
Colors begin to change as vapors clash with the cold Hard to believe something so violent renders like white gold The chill in the air, brushes up against the exposure of my nose A theater before me to watch, with a maestro about to compose
Something is falling; I’m not quite sure what it might be Reflecting light diffusing colors as it becomes clearer for me to see A symmetrical crystal twirling, floating into plain view A single snowflake auditioning for the dance called debut
Each glide it takes sways the next beat of my loving heart The rhythm fluctuates as I watch this magnificent work of art All of a sudden there were more as if someone stroked a brush An imaginary carpet materializes, with wall-to-wall white plush
Lost in a gentle breeze my little flake elevate to a new height Tracing the heavens, I watch it, as regains its original flight Parachuting in for a landing, headfirst it falls to grace This debut of precious crystal is now smiling as it rest upon my face
