Freckles

Freckles

A Poem by devon

The flesh resting on my fingertip’s end

Trace a path made just for me

By orange battle wounds

Brilliantly scattered, scattered, scattered,

‘Cross your cheeks.

Remnants of a civil war

Fought long ago, the sun now leaves

Memories of your dotted skin’s defeat

With a map for my lip’s sudden

Lack of geography.

Just something that popped into my head at school today.

By the way, the GORGEOUS specimen in the photo for this poem is Eddie Redmayne. Brilliant man and actor with a brilliant face and brilliant freckles.

leaves much open as to what the civil war is...could be the battle against aging...

the skin's defeat could be from a cancer, but there is survival...

and now this speaker is with him...i love the last two lines..."with a map for my lip's sudden/ lack of geography"

those are two lines i wish i had written.

Its very intriguing. :) Nice use of repeating words and what you are trying to put through is clearly seen. :D
