Hey, Charlotte

Hey, Charlotte

A Poem by devon

There's a place in the forest,
Just beyond the tallest oak tree,
A path that you can take,
It'll lead you to my special place.
And there you'll find me,
Sprawled out under the stars.
My back is to the world,
I'm ready to fall apart.

So, come and take a seat,
Sit out on the turf.
We can hold hands like lovers,
Laugh like something's funny.
Waste the night away,
Entwined in the dirt.
And as the sky fades to pink,
We'll forget all our hurt.

Charlotte spin a web above us,
Tell us all a tale,
About about a boy and a girl
And how so much in love they fell.

And Charlotte, weave your words
Into some fairy tale fable
With two kids lost in this world,
Learning all that love is able.

Hey, Charlotte,
What's that story
About that boy and girl?
Did they get their happy ending?
Or were they sorry they fell?
Oh, Charlotte tell us.
Charlotte, how'd that story go, again?
Oh, Charlotte tell us.

Whisper sweet nothings,
Into my ear tonight.
Watch the moonlight on
Our bodies, laying side by side.
And when I say I'm tired,
Would you wake me with a kiss?
And if I cry about my past,
Your future would you give?

Listen to the wind blow
How it rustles the leaves,
Making soft music,
So we can move our feet.
Dancing in circles,
On Mother Nature's floor,
I give you my heart,
Yours to explore.

Charlotte spin a web above us,
Tell us all a tale,
About about a boy and girl
And how so much in love they fell.

And Charlotte, weave your words
Into some fairy tale fable
With two kids lost in this world,
Learning all that love is able.

Hey, Charlotte,
What's that story
About that boy and girl?
Did they get their happy ending?
Or were they sorry they fell?
Oh, Charlotte tell us.
Charlotte, how'd that story go?

But Charlotte, I think I know.
Charlotte,
Oh, Charlotte,
I think I know
How that story goes.

Thanks, Randa! :)
Hey, I could dance to this! And it is so sweet!
There's just one thing that bothers me. The line "Your future would you give?" seems a bit awkward and forced to me. You could play around a bit and find a line that works better...but then again, I could just be being too nit-picky. The rest of it is great!

Very cool, I enjoyed a lot reading it, great imagination for the song and a great idea writing down the song that came to you :)

At first, it really sounded like more a poem, and when the chorus started, it changes. these are good lyrics

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh. That was AMAZING. Hear that? IT WAS MY MIND BEING BLOWN. Babe, I don't even have the words. My favourite line is 'And if I cry about my past' I don't know It just stuck with me the whole way down after. Because I know how it feels, watning to cry about my past but for some reason, for years, I've held in those tears and maybe it makes me stronger. Maybe if I just let them out my chest will feel lighter. Maybe if I hold on to them long enough they'll form a person with some strength, I don't know.
Anyway, I'm rambling on. The point of this poem was love. No? Yes. I love how you sort of place all of your fears and regrets in this boy. But then you're afraid that hehimself may fall. Like you placed little notes, pieces of paper in a glass jar, and on these notes you had written every little thing you had done in life and all your hopes and dreams. Then the fear comes that this glass jar itself will shatter into a million pieces, sending all the paper into the wind...

I really like your imagery, your flow and that asking rhythm who jumps between some wonderful stanzas. It's so good that you simply can sing it. You spread romantic cuts on it, and that feels very well. And forgot to say, i like your idea.
Thanks for sharing..Keep it up buddy :D

This is really amazing! The way you develop the imagery makes beautiful pictures in my head that seem almost magical! Add an acoustic guitar to this and you'll have an even more awesome song. :D
Magnificent job.
