I Need a Girl

I Need a Girl

A Poem by Dalton Wagoner

I'm all alone
And I'm still single
I don't know why I cannot mingle
I want to find
My one and only
But I always end up lonely
Across the world
Or simply taken
Why am I always forsaken
I want to love
I wish to feel
I want to have something that's real
I want to smile
I want that glee
I guess it's just not meant to be
You'll have my soul
You'll have my heart
You'll be my queen right from the start
I'll be your friend
I'll be your rock
I'll hold you tight as our lips lock
I'll write you poems
I'll bring you flowers
I'll think of you in all my hours
I'd dance with you
I'd tell you you're my dream come true
I look over
And you're not there
The only thing I feel is air
I watch the clock
Its arms keep moving
All I see is time removing
What's wrong with me
I ask the clock
But its response is tick tock tick tock
I toss and turn
I want to cry
But I have to keep my head held high
Though I'm alone
I'll be just fine
I still need to have a spine
But I will pray
I find my Boo
And one day I will find you too

It's been a while my dear friend. Thank you for introducing me to the cafe years ago (at least that's what it feels like on my end). I think we have all felt like this and it definitely sucks, but when we find that person, all of the lonely nights seem to dissipate in the mind when you have your wife next to you.
