My Heart Beats

My Heart Beats

A Poem by Bear Hunter
"

Listen to the reminder beating within you.

"
My heart beats,
my eyes open wide.
I engulf the world,
my life yet lies untried.

My heart beats,
I drown in a sea of faces.
My hands shake in fear,
as students find their places.

My heart beats,
almost painfully so.
Love has me bound,
and it refuses to let go.

My heart beats,
a deal sealed and done.
In agreement we melt together,
as two become one.

My heart beats,
a third heart springs to life.
His eyes shine with wonder,
unaware of the pleasure and strife.

My heart beats,
a part inside me dies.
The little one leaves the nest,
in search of clearer skies.

My heart beats,
an aged heart in grief.
Already to dust she has returned,
our time together too brief.

My heart beats,
but for how long I do not know.
Of regrets I have none,
and this heart will soon let go.

The bright red at the beginning fading to the lightest gray at the end as the bright baby fades to being so near death symbolizes your piece perfectly. This is a beautiful piece!
