Always wanting to upgrade

Version 2.0

We are programmed

to search for upgrades.

But with our humanity

we cannot find

another version

of human.

Our senses

are not the worst

or best,

but are balanced for us.

How

could we handle

another upgrade?

Silence.

What we all need

to keep us sane

does not exist

in this world.

Hearing

beyond what we are meant to.

The beating of hearts.

The dancing of air.

The sounds of nature.

The words we mouth,

but do not dare speak.

And perhaps in time

an increased sense

of our world

will be out of balance.

In a world of

controlled chaos

and a desire to know

Do we need

to know

everything?

This was wonderfully thought-out and executed. The meaning behind this is as clear as anything: We don't need to know everything. The anxiety that comes from us constantly searching; that feeling of always digging for something, long before we've even settled in to enjoying what is immediately around us. This piece highlights those things without flaw.
