Ocean side

Ocean side

A Poem by Jennifer Ellen

I cant escape this feeling inside,

It feels of lost,

Of emptyness,

As i sit here,

All i do is look a the tide,

I watch the waves break,

Rolling in slowly,

Crashing against the sand,

so softly,

but yet rough,

The sun is so peacefully set,

In the background,

ever so perfectly,

The sand is warm and soft againt my skin,

molding to my every curve,

as i lay here,

ready for it to be done with,

i lean my head back,

laying on the sand,

I stare at the now rising moon,

as it casts its shadows on the night life,

And i close my eyes,

Waiting,

Just waiting,

I listen to the soft sound of the waves,

counting each as they break,

wanting to being drifting in them,

Feeling the water incase my body,

surrounding me,

But the water is cold,

The winter has come,

And its not like it was,

As i lay here,

listening to the sounds around me,

the sounds change,

there is a new sound,

the sound of foot steps in the sand,

coming towards me,

slowly,

almost questioningly,

the person sits,

next to my motionless body,

they just sit there,

looking at me,

holding my hand,

waiting for me to stir,

to make any movement,

all they i am doing is slowly breathing,

in and out,

my chest moving up and down,

As they wait,

I wonder if they will just leave,

But they don't,

I slowly open my eyes and see,

Him staring down at me,

Just so peacefully,

A questions lingers on his lips,

A worry shines in his eyes,

All afraid to speak,

He doesn't know where to start,

I squeeze his hand softly,

A silent reply to an unasked question,

And with a slight smile forming on my lips,

He stands up,

Pulling me with him,

Pulling me close to him,

As he wraps me in his embrace,

He whispers in my ear,

"Baby, I know we have our ups and downs, our fights, and make ups. And i know right now it feels like the end of the world, cause I am so far, but honey, I lvoe you, Will you stay with me forever?"

I look up into his eyes,

Kissing him,

I whisper,

"Of course my love,"

Smiling,

I take his hand,

And whisper again,

"On this beach, on this night, I promise you, I will be with you forever."

Then he slowly began to vanish in front of me,

He kissed my cheek and whispered,

"Until forever."

Then he was gone.

I sit in the sand again,

I miss you,

Your just so far away,

Dropping a single tear on the sand,

With a message left,

In the sand,

I walk away,

Leaving my mark,

For you to see,

My mark,

Number sixteen. <3

About
I am a beautifully broken poet. I wonder why the world has so much hate in it. I hear my heart beat loud as I look at what’s to come in my life. I see the words from my heart flow out and ont.. more..
