Fame Dazed

Fame Dazed

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

Hollywood glamour
Retro chic
Beautiful in glitter
Stop and steal a peak.
Longing to be different
Losing sight of herself
Staying out with the boys
Idealistic Fairytale
She always thought to be true
Never once thought she’d go missing
What about you?
Straight A student
Willing to succeed
Always thinking
everything is consequence free.
Staying out late
Parties every night
Never once thought
She would go down without a fight
Drugged veins turn black
Her body turns cold
Regretting the second
She left home
Morphine intoxication
Loving the thrill
You’d never think twice
She is someone’s little girl.
Hollywood murder
Such a glamorous way
Something perfect
To end her horrendous day

Author's Note

Alicia Hirshey
I didn't say I was different or better. I'm not. Hell, I sympathize; I sympathize completely. Apathy is the solution. I mean, it's easier to lose yourself in drugs than it is to cope with life. It's easier to steal what you want than it is to earn it. It's easier to beat a child than it is to raise it. Hell, love costs: it takes effort and work. -William Somerset

I like because the title is amazingly accurate fitting and the poem wording is spell binding.
