Life is mostly moving pictures

Life is mostly moving pictures

A Poem by Beccy

Pale hearts, pale faces, paler sky

sound bites that pass so quickly by,

like flicker frames lost one by one

between a shift of moon and sun.

And in the silences between

each posed and postured little scene,

we follow scripts that write the years away

turn all of colour into grey;

leaving the yearning heart unstirred

and songs that mostly go unheard;

eternal change, eternally the same,

as rare we sidestep life's remorseless game.

and often it is in high definition now....we are everywhere and our lives open books with this technological age we are in...
we are actors in our own play---and the good thing is we get to write most of the script as to how we deal with what life throws at us.
nicely done, this poem...really like the analogy done.

Love the way you describe the way of life in this one. There's darkness in these words, sprinkled with a bit of light heartedness. The descriptive words paint a beautifully, eery picture that's unique and memorable. Thank you for sharing.

Yes indeed every once in awhile, break the shackles and think outside the box, nothing wrong with that!

A finely crafted, subjective piece of poetry!

This is such a great write Beccy and it's truth really comes through.
Nicely done.

Highly creative for a traditionally formatted piece. I'd like to see what you do with a less-structured poem, but this is truly lovely! It made my morning, so I'm glad you introduced yourself by way of a
comment on one of my works. I'll be back.

This is a lovely write, Beccy, with reflective sentiments and great rhyming. I love "we follow scripts that write the years away" - often too comfortable, too conditioned or even fearful to re-write those scripts ! I enjoyed this very much. Penny

Thanks Neville. Time seems to pass so quickly nowadays; sometimes the same old, same old, loses it's allure.

Beccy.

I consider myself honored to be the first to formally comment on this poem of yours and am sure there will be many more in the days and weeks to come.

I know this is the first of your work to be placed here and normally I choose much more randomly but I was quite taken with the title. I was even more delighted though when this work of yours held my interest from beginning to end. I think there is more to this than what immediately meets the eye.. Good stuff, N
