You Lied

You Lied

A Poem by Belle

I told you nothing lasts forever
I told you I was scared
of waking up and
realizing it was all a dream
But you told me this was no dream
That you will be with me til the end
You lied
.....
You said we'd be inseparable
You said you'd sacrifice everything to be with me
Not even death can take you away from me, you said
You lied
......

You begged me to wait for you
You said you'd definitely come for me
Countless nights I stayed awake
Eagerly waiting for you to come back to me
But you never came
You lied.
.....

You died and left me behind
You promised you'd fight!
You didn't!
You didn't struggle
You let death steal you away from me; you succumbed.
You promised you'd fight
But, you lied

I agree with A.K., the last couple of lines especially, very powerful. I liked the whole poem, you put so much emotion into it, and I could feel that.

That last paragraph...wow. Very strong and left on a very ominous yet final note.
