Ghost

Ghost

A Poem by Miles Wilburn
"

This is kind of what you make it. Like other poetry!

"
Such a prevalent force is the unknown,
Is that the creaking of the floors or just my thoughts?
I wasn't prepared for the quiet that has come, and
I wasn't ready for the flickers of faces from long before.

My heart churned with excitement when I saw you;
Never truly getting closure in the life we shared before.
I set out to make things right, but
I never knew the pain we bared before.

The memories fade out like old video film;
Static overtakes our minds.
I never knew what was real or what was a lie.
All I know is that darkness overcame the light.
