The Lycanthrope Moon

The Lycanthrope Moon

A Poem by Gustan Joseph

I’m trying to move forward but I can’t see without you.

The night is a blindfold,

Without the influence you hold.

It’s silent dark and cold.

The darkness eats a way at my legs and feet.

Before the sun could rise,

I won’t survive.

Full moon wont you save my life?

There’s an empty space in the sky.

It won’t leave.

There are creatures that stay hidden in the night.

They want to eat me,

The darkness monsters you never can see.

There’s a cold blue sweat of the strength that I lack.

It captivates the center of my back.

There are subtle whispers coming from behind the trees.

When the sounds become more violent and strife,

I stumble as I begin to run for my life.

But there’s a possibly

In the open sky I now see.

Where the clouds move slowly and….

All I need is the moon to let me be

The monster inside me.

Yes, there’s a monster inside me.

Full moon set me free.
