A Chapter by BlackBlood

Removing the blood-soaked fangs from the neck of Ashly Baker, Moonshard felt a sense of serenity fill her. She dropped the corpse, and it landed in the rough gravel with a deep thud. Clashing against the walls of Moonshard's mind, were the previous bloodcurdling screams, as they echoed in the enclosed area.
She enjoyed the torture of the human race, as they had once tortured them. She was one of the few NightStalkers to survive the attacks of humans. Of course the humans didn’t harm them. Tortured, them, yes. Killed them... No. It was the creatures that helped the humans, who harmed them, but the fact that the humans tried... It angered them.
Moonshard growled deep in her throat, and raised the pitch until no human ears could hear it. The sound waves penetrated the walls, and wrapped around the Earth like another blanket of the atmosphere. She listened intently, as her signal was repeated several times by others.
Gradually several black shapes moved among the shadows. All were shadows. None showed themselves, and all that could be heard, were unwelcome snarls.
“It’s time.”
The voice that issued from Moonshard's mouth was not one she remembered from five hundred years ago. It sounded like gravel striking together. Every other word, flames sparked from her mouth from the lack of use.
Murmurs ran around the entire perimeter, before someone spoke. The voice flowed out like honey. The kind of voice you know immediately is danger, “Are you sure?”
“Yes,” she snarled, spinning around on her toes, and facing the shadow the voice came from, “You doubt my authority? You doubt my decision?!” Her voice rose to a screech and the mutterings stopped.
Shaado stayed calm, “No I don’t. I’m just merely stating that we might not be ready, even if you are, Moonshard.”
She rocked back and forth on her feet, snarling. For a second she thought of jumping on her, and tearing her throat out. Then she wouldn’t be able to speak. She hissed softly, turned around, and vanished, after whispering, “Fine. Find me when you are ready.”

                  ~*~

“Don’t mess with me,” my voice was a snarl that echoed around the hallway.
“Aww… The little baby is angry,” the smirk stretched across Jonny’s face flared my anger.
“Shut up.”
“Look at that… She’s getting irritated. You won’t hurt me. You can’t. You’re just a girl,” several people sniggered, and I narrowed my eyes dangerously, taking a step towards him.
“You wanna bet?” I knew I shouldn’t. I was going to get in so much trouble. But just because I was a girl, does NOT mean I can’t stick up for myself.
“Yeah,” said Jonny. He stepped up to me, and shoved his face in mine. I stood there shaking, anger boiling in my chest. I swallowed, and took a breath, calming my nerves.
Jonny smirked again, and pulled his head away, “I told you. You don’t have the guts.” Everyone around me and him laughed, and Jonny winked at me, before turning away.
I growled. A deep sinister rumbling echoed from my throat, causing everyone to fall silent almost immediately. Jonny turned and watched me curiously. My hands curled into themselves, and claws stretched there way out of my fingertips. I screamed in anger and arched my back, bowing my head to the floor, excruciating pain throbbing through me. My teeth moved of their own accord and I felt several pairs of new teeth shaking in my mouth. My head pounded and screeched, and my back seemed to split open, burning pain shot through my back.
I shrieked in fury and pain. Standing straight up, I bent backwards, as my back seemed to collapse in itself. I felt large velvet wings shape themselves out of cuts in my back.
The pain seemed to stop slowly. Blood throbbed in me, and my heart rate rose, my breath coming in fast gulps. Straightening slowly, I glared at Jonny, before taking a deep breath, and holding it. Everything that had happened disappeared. Not as painful as it actually happening.
Don’t mess with me,” I repeated, howling softly.
Jonny held no fear in his eyes, but he was shaking in fright. He nodded jerkily, and I turned. Everyone stumbled back, afraid. I walked through the small path that was formed, and disappeared through the doorway.
When I sat down, tears spilled down my face, and I couldn’t control them. I hated what I was, and I hated that I had to use it as an example to make people stop messing with me. I shook with fright, sorrow, pain and confusion as I thought of what I just did. Running my tongue over my teeth, I felt my canines still intact. Those never went back to there normal state. Always there. Never disappearing. I felt like a vampire. Actually, I wish I was a vampire. It’s better then what I really was. I didn’t even know what I was. I have tons of gifts that I shouldn’t have, all from separate creatures.
The fangs, from vampires. The shadow walking, from NightStalker’s. Mindreading from Daggerd’s. Wings from BlackIce’s. The rest of my “powers” I didn’t know where they came from, or how I have them. I don’t know what I am, which, puts me in the solitary classes. I had no friends. No one was scared of me, until Jonny provoked me that is. Everyone teased me.
I search for help, but none comes. I glanced in the mirror and smiled weakly at my reflection. My eyes were a blood-red, shining in the dim candle light. Long black eyelashes outlined them. Soft, black hair draped my face carefully, hiding most of my face. I had dark red streaks in my hair. My lips were a dark pink, causing it to look like I had lipstick on. I growled, flashing my teeth. Solid black and smooth. Like always. Large black shadows lay under my eyes, giving me a gothic look. Well, I was goth, but the shadows just highlighted it all.
I felt more tears fill my eyes, and I turned away from my hideous self.

Author's Note

Is it good? Should I continue with it? Oh, and the first person in the story, and the second person are two seperate people, in cause you didn\'t get that. Should I fix anything? Oh, and and any suggestions on creatures names would be WONDERFUL. I can\'t think at alllll... I really can\'t. Thank you for anyone who takes their time to read this. :)

The chapter is coming along quite nicely ^-^ The only editing I can figure may happpen some time are the small things you'll change whenever you take a long-ish break from it. That always happens to me when I"m working on a story. In fact, I recommend taking a break, don't read this chapter for a couple weeks (work on the next ones in the meantime or something) and when you come back you'll see changes you'll want to make in wording and whatnot.

I look forward to reading the next installment.
