Operation: Monte Carlo Ep. 10 Sound of Pulling Heaven Down

With the possibility of Yuuto being gone, the team has to move on to find Seiichi. What has happened to Yuuto? Will the team find Seiichi before he attempts to capture Ninette again?

          EXT. WAREHOUSE. NIGHT.

          The warehouse is on fire from the explosion. Ninette in her

          wedding dress is being held down by Shinobu. She is

          screaming. Another explosion comes from the inside of the

          warehouse. Ninette breaks free from Shinobu and runs to the

          door.

                              DAISUKE

                    Ninette, don't!

          Ninette reaches for the door handle and opens it. There is

          fire blocking her view of the inside.

                              NINETTE

                    Yuuto! Yuuto!

          She hears the sirens from the fire trucks, police cars, and

          ambulances. She sees a figure on the other side of the fire

          walking slowly toward her.

                              NINETTE

                    Yuuto?

          Yuuto falls through the fire onto his hands and knees. Parts

          of his clothes are burned through. Ninette runs to him and

          helps pull him out of the warehouse. She rolls him over on

          his back. His breathing is weak, he's clothes stained with

          blood, and parts of his skin is burned. His blood stains

          Ninette's dress.

                              NINETTE

                    Yuuto, speak to me. Please, say

                    something!

          Yuuto struggles to grab Ninette's hand. She takes his hand

          in his.

                              YUUTO(KATASHI)

                    I did... my... best to... get him

                    out okay.

                              NINETTE

                    Katashi? Please tell me he's fine.

          Yuuto's hand slips from her's. She takes hold Yuuto's head

          to her chest and cries. Daisuke and the others look on in

          shock. The service vehicles arrive. The police start to

          block off the area and the firefighters start preparing to

          put out the fire. Four paramedics with a stretcher run over

          to Ninette and Yuuto. They try to pull Yuuto away from

          Ninette but she screams and holds him closer. Daisuke and

          the others run over and help the paramedics separate Yuuto

          from Ninette. Ninette screams again and tries to escape but

          all four of the members hold her back.

          INT. HOSPITAL. NIGHT.

          A few hours after the incident, Ninette is sitting over by

          the window. Her eyes are swollen. Daisuke and the others are

          on the other end of the room.

                              DAISUKE

                    Do you think they can save him?

                              RYOICHI

                    With all the toxic fumes, I'll be

                    surprised if he wasn't poisoned

                    from that.

                              SHINOBU

                    They've been in there for three

                    hours operating on him.

                              KAZUO

                    Shhh... not so loud.

          They all look over at Ninette who is still looking out of

          the window. The surgeon walks out of the operating room and

          walks over to Daisuke and the others.

                              SURGEON

                    Are you here for Takamori Yuuto?

                              DAISUKE

                    Yeah, is he okay?

                              SURGEON

                    He is fine. We had to treat all of

                    the burns and his bullet wound. He

                    should be...

                              SHINOBU

                    Bullet wound?

                              SURGEON

                    We found a bullet inside of his

                    abdomen.

                              DAISUKE

                    That must have been from the first

                    shot we heard.

                              SURGEON

                    We will be bringing him out

                    shortly. He's still sedated so it

                    will be a while before he wakes up.

                              DAISUKE

                    Thank you.

          The surgeon walks away.

                              KAZUO

                    Who wants to tell her?

                              SHINOBU

                    I'll go.

          Shinobu walks over to Ninette and sits in front of her.

                              SHINOBU

                    Ninette?

          She looks at him.

                              SHINOBU

                    We just got word from the surgeon

                    and Yuuto's surgery went well.

          Ninette's eyes widen.

                              NINETTE

                    He's alright?

                              SHINOBU

                    Yeah. They're bringing him out

                    soon.

          Ninette quickly walks over to the operation room door as the

          nurses push Yuuto's gurney out of the room. Part of his face

          is bandaged up, everything else is covered up. Ninette

          follows the nurses away to the hospital room.

                              KAZUO

                    I'm going to run to the hotel and

                    grab Ninette some clothes. I'm sure

                    she wants to get out of that dress.

                    I'll bring Yuuto some clothes too.

          Kazuo leaves. Daisuke, Shinobu, and Ryoichi follow the

          nurses and Ninette's path to Yuuto's room.

                              SHINOBU

                    So, what are we going to do about

                    Seiichi? He ended up escaping the

                    wedding after the police got there.

                              DAISUKE

                    I don't know. Do we know where he

                    went?

                              SHINOBU

                    No. He was injured badly when

                    Ninette hit him over the head with

                    the champagne bottle. She cut his

                    arm open too.

                              RYOICHI

                    He should have gone to a hospital.

                    Maybe the hospitals in Shinagawa

                    have records if he went in.

                              DAISUKE

                    That's true. Shinobu, can you check

                    on that tomorrow?

                              SHINOBU

                    I'll head to my lab right now.

                    Watanabe-san has something for me

                    so I'll check on that while I'm

                    working.

                              DAISUKE

                    Great.

          Shinobu leaves. Daisuke and Ryoichi reach Yuuto's hospital

          room and look in the window. They see Ninette sitting on a

          chair next to the gurney. She's holding Yuuto's bandaged

          hand.

                              DAISUKE

                    She's not leaving this hospital.

                              RYOICHI

                    Nope. She won't leave until he

                    does.

                              DAISUKE

                    That will make it easier to keep an

                    eye on her. One of us will keep

                    watch each day until he's able to

                    leave.

                              RYOICHI

                    I'll keep watch tonight. You go

                    help Shinobu or Ishikawa.

                              DAISUKE

                    Alright.

          INT. SAKAMOTO MANOR. MIDNIGHT.

          Seiichi enters this glorified mansion. He has a bandage on

          his head from where Ninette hit him. A butler walks up to

          him and bows.

                              BUTLER

                    May I take your coat, Sakamoto-san?

          Seiichi gives him his jacket. The arm that Ninette cut is

          also bandaged up.

                              SEIICHI

                    Where is my father?

                              BUTLER

                    He is in his office. He has a

                    customer in at the moment.

                              SEIICHI

                    Doesn't matter.

          Seiichi walks up the stairs and follows the hall to the very

          end. He opens the door and sees SAKAMOTO AKIHIRO sitting

          behind his desk with a customer in front of him.

                              SEIICHI

                    Father, we have a problem.

          Akihiro motions the customer to leave and he does closing

          the door behind him.

                              AKIHIRO

                    What is it, Seiichi?

                              SEIICHI

                    If you haven't noticed, we are

                    being wiped out.

                              AKIHIRO

                    I know about what is going on.

                              SEIICHI

                    Then why haven't you done anything?

                              AKIHIRO

                    Because I was not the one to pay

                    for a princess to marry. That was

                    all you.

                              SEIICHI

                    You're still alive, you're still in

                    charge.

                              AKIHIRO

                    And you need to learn to deal with

                    your own problems.

          Seiichi walks up to the desk and slams his hand down on it.

          He leans in.

                              SEIICHI

                    They have wiped out Fujiwara,

                    Akachi, and Minoto. They found our

                    main weapon supplier and arrested

                    him. It is our problem now.

          Akihiro slowly stands and leans down to Seiichi's eye level.

                              AKIHIRO

                    You fucked this up, not me. You

                    were the one that made the payout.

                    You were the one that asked them

                    for help. I had nothing to do with

                    it. The way you have been acting, I

                    might as well be dead. This is your

                    fight, not mine.

                              SEIICHI

                    Fine, but if I'm arrested or

                    killed, they will come for you

                    next.

                              AKIHIRO

                    And I will be ready for them. You

                    keep them off my doorstep.

          Seiichi leaves the room.

          INT. HOSPITAL. EARLY MORNING.

          Ninette is holding Yuuto's hand. She pulls her chair closer

          to the head of the gurney and strokes his hair. She hears

          the door slide open. She looks back to see Kazuo bringing in

          Ninette's purse and a duffel bag. He lays it down next to

          the gurney.

                              KAZUO

                    I brought you extra sets of

                    clothes. I figured you would want

                    to change out of the dress.

          Ninette smiles.

                              NINETTE

                    Thank you, Ishikawa.

                              KAZUO

                    It's Kazuo.

                              NINETTE

                    Thank you, Kazuo.

          He picks up her purse and hands it to her.

                              KAZUO

                    Here's your purse. We packed you a

                    new cell phone and some personal

                    things in case you need them.

                              NINETTE

                    Thank you.

          She takes it.

                              KAZUO

                    The doctor said you can stay in

                    here as long as he's here.

                    Throughout the day, we'll be

                    rotating guarding duties so if

                    Seiichi does try to find you, we'll

                    be ready.

                              NINETTE

                    Alright.

          Kazuo leaves the room. Ninette pulls a pair of pants and a

          tank top from the duffel bag. She walks into the shower room

          and closes the door behind her.

          INT. SHINOBU'S LAB. EARLY MORNING.

          Shinobu is working on his computer and he has his phone

          between his shoulder and ear.

                              SHINOBU

                    How is everything going over there?

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    Everything is going fine. We've had

                    a good time since we got here. We

                    took an entire day to unwind and

                    walk around Time Square.

                              SHINOBU

                    Can't that be stressful?

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    Shinobu, I'm fine. If I was more

                    than four months pregnant, I would

                    be more careful. I am being

                    careful, don't worry.

          Shinobu sits in the chair behind him.

                              SHINOBU

                    I miss you.

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    I miss you, too. Will we be able to

                    come home soon?

                              SHINOBU

                    I hope so. We've made sure that

                    Ninette is safe and we are trying

                    to find the man that attacked us.

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    How are your ribs doing? You did

                    get that checked out, didn't you?

                              SHINOBU

                    I did. I have two broken ribs but

                    that didn't puncture anything.

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    Have you been staying out of the

                    action?

                              SHINOBU

                    I've stayed out of most of it.

                    There was one time that I didn't.

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    Just be careful when you do.

                              SHINOBU

                    I will.

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    I have to go now. Good luck with

                    everything.

                              SHINOBU

                    Thank you. Take care. I love you.

                              NATSUMI

                         (over phone)

                    I love you too.

          Shinobu closes the phone and looks at it for a second.

                              SHINOBU

                    I'm going to bring you home. I

                    promise.

          There is beep from his computer. He looks up and sees the

          name of a hospital blinking.

                              SHINOBU

                    There it is.

          INT. UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL. EARLY MORNING.

          Daisuke and Kazuo are interviewing a nurse at the nurses'

          station.

                              NURSE

                    Yes, a man by that name came by

                    here around twenty-three o'clock.

                              DAISUKE

                    Did he mention anything suspicious?

                              NURSE

                    He didn't speak the entire time we

                    were stitching him up.

                              DAISUKE

                    Thank you for your time.

                              NURSE

                    Of course.

          She walks away from them.

                              KAZUO

                    Well, that was a load of help.

                              DAISUKE

                    He doesn't want to get caught. He's

                    smart.

                              KAZUO

                    Where else can we go?

                              DAISUKE

                    What did Ninette say about where he

                    took her after he kidnapped her?

                              KAZUO

                    She told me it was a high-end loft.

                    I guessing it was in Shinagawa. She

                    didn't know what it was called or

                    anything because they blindfolded

                    her before they got there.

                              DAISUKE

                    Great. I hope we find him before he

                    finds her.

                              KAZUO

                    Ryoichi's there, she'll be fine.

                    Besides, a hospital is the best

                    place the be at the moment. We have

                    security guarding that place from

                    roof to basement.

                              DAISUKE

                    I guess you're right.

          INT. HOSPITAL. SUNRISE.

          Ninette walks out of the shower dressed in her jeans and

          tank, carrying the bloody wedding dress. She sees Yuuto

          laying there with his eyes open. She walks over to him.

                              NINETTE

                    Yuuto?

          He looks at her but he doesn't move.

                              YUUTO

                    It was you.

          Ninette lays the dress on the chair and sits on the gurney

          facing him.

                              NINETTE

                    Yuuto, is it you?

          Yuuto looks away.

                              YUUTO

                    It can only be me.

                              NINETTE

                    What do you mean?

                              YUUTO

                    They're gone.

          Ninette takes his hand but he pulls it away. Tears fall from

          his eyes.

                              YUUTO

                    They're not here, I cannot feel

                    them. They're dead.

                              NINETTE

                    What do you mean, Yuuto?

                              YUUTO

                    She killed them!

          Ninette looks away from him.

                              YUUTO

                    Sumiko killed them. She took the

                    same knife that she used to kill my

                    father to kill them.

                              NINETTE

                    Your mother couldn't kill them.

                              YUUTO

                    The fifth personality was my

                    mother.

          Ninette looks back at him.

                              NINETTE

                    What?

                              YUUTO

                    Noboro told me that the fifth

                    personality was modeled after the

                    mother that I remember from my

                    childhood. She was lying dormant

                    for years but the other alters held

                    her back with the repressed

                    memories... But now they're gone

                    and it's all my fault.

                              NINETTE

                    How is it your fault?

                              YUUTO

                    I wished it. I wished them away so

                    she killed them. Now I regret it. I

                    didn't realize how important they

                    were to me and how much I felt

                    whole. Now I feel empty, like I

                    have nothing left of me.

          Yuuto buries his face in his hands. Ninette stands and walks

          out of the room. Ryoichi stands when she closes the door.

                              RYOICHI

                    How is he?

                              NINETTE

                    He's awake but he's heartbroken. I

                    need to call someone, can you watch

                    him?

                              RYOICHI

                    You're the one that needs to be

                    watched, not him.

                              NINETTE

                    I'm going to the roof. I'll be

                    fine.

          Ninette walks away from him. He walks in the room to see

          Yuuto sitting up unwrapping the bandage on his arm. His eyes

          are swollen.

                              RYOICHI

                    Yuuto, don't. It needs to heal.

          Yuuto finishes unwrapping it to see the major second degree

          burns over his forearm.

                              RYOICHI

                    We were surprised when they told us

                    it was only a second degree. They

                    did say if they don't treat it

                    every other day it might progress

                    to third. There are burns on your

                    legs and torso as well.

                              YUUTO

                    Stop.

                              RYOICHI

                    May I ask you one thing though? Why

                    did you shoot yourself the way you

                    did? In the stomach, I mean.

          Yuuto moves the cover off and pulls up the smock to reveal

          the bandaged gunshot wound. He remembers pointing the gun at

          Bloody Sumiko and then at himself and pulling the trigger.

          He pulls the smock down.

                              YUUTO

                    I'm not sure why.

          Ryoichi walks over to him and picks up the bandages and

          starts wrapping it on Yuuto's arm.

                              RYOICHI

                    You need to keep this on or it's

                    going to get infected.

          Yuuto looks out of the window at the rising sun.

          On the roof of the hospital, Ninette is on the phone with

          Aina.

                              NINETTE

                    So its not possible.

                              AINA

                         (over phone)

                    I've never heard of such a thing in

                    any D.I.D. case. It doesn't mean

                    its not possible. Alters cannot

                    kill each other but they can

                    communicate. Most of the time,

                    alters will disappear for some time

                    but they are in a part of the mind

                    that cannot retrieve them. Alters

                    are like memories, they can pop up

                    whenever they want but they can

                    also hide.

                              NINETTE

                    So how do you explain why Yuuto

                    cannot feel them anymore?

                              AINA

                         (over phone)

                    They are in his unconscious, a

                    place in the mind that many people

                    cannot retrieve information from

                    unless under hypnosis or some other

                    altered state. He's lived with them

                    in his preconscious for so long

                    that he doesn't know what it feels

                    like to not have them there.

                              NINETTE

                    So they are just in a different

                    part of his mind? Can he get them

                    back?

                              AINA

                         (over phone)

                    The alters will come back when they

                    feel like they are needed. Until

                    that time, they will continue to

                    hide.

                              NINETTE

                    You seem to know a lot about the

                    mental part of people with this

                    disorder.

                              AINA

                         (over phone)

                    There is a reason for that.

                              NINETTE

                    Uh?

                              AINA

                         (over phone)

                    Many psychologist do not believe in

                    D.I.D, I was diagnosed

                    schizophrenic before I went to

                    America to be diagnosed correctly.

                              NINETTE

                    You mean...

                              AINA

                         (over phone)

                    I know how hard it is to be in his

                    position. I understand his feeling

                    of being empty. I have lost some

                    personalities over the years

                    because I felt like I didn't need

                    them anymore. It will take time but

                    he will get used to it and when he

                    cannot cope with something, he will

                    either create a new alter or an old

                    one will come back. It ultimately

                    depends on him.

                              NINETTE

                    I will let him know. Thank you.

                              AINA

                         (over phone)

                    I'm sorry to hear what happened to

                    him. I hope he recovers quickly.

          Ninette closes the phone and stares at the sun.

          INT/EXT. SEIICHI'S APARTMENT. MORNING.

          Seiichi is sitting on the couch with his phone to his ear.

                              SEIICHI

                    I need everyone to take these

                    b******s down. (pause) I will pay

                    you any money you need. (pause) You

                    don't understand, these men are the

                    reason we don't have the weapons to

                    sell to you. They are bringing this

                    clan down one sector at a time and

                    I will not rest until all of them

                    are dead and Ninette is mine.

                    (pause) Unless you want me at your

                    door getting ready to shoot you in

                    the head, you will help me take

                    them down.

          He closes the phone and tosses it onto the coffee table.

          There is a knock on the door. He pulls out his gun and walks

          quietly to the door. He looks out of the peep hole and sees

          Daisuke and Kazuo.

                              SEIICHI

                         (quietly)

                    S**t.

          Outside of the room, a hotel security officer is with

          Daisuke and Kazuo. The two of them move to either side of

          the door and signal the security officer to unlock the door.

          Daisuke and Kazuo ready their guns. He takes out his keys

          and unlocks the door. Kazuo goes in first, Daisuke follows.

          They walk into the living room and search. Daisuke walks

          into the kitchen and checks every open area. Kazuo walks

          through the hall to the bed and bathroom. Kazuo steps into

          the bedroom and checks the closet with no luck. The two meet

          back up in the living room.

                              DAISUKE

                    He's not here.

                              KAZUO

                    S**t.

          The two of them go to exit and see blood on the floor

          outside. They see the security guard dead sitting against

          the wall. His neck is slit open.

                              KAZUO

                    He was here. F**k! How the f**k did

                    we miss him!

                              DAISUKE

                    He's not going to get far. The

                    police are right outside.

          Outside, Seiichi exits the building and is stopped by the

          five police cars outside and the several armed officers.

                              POLICE OFFICER

                    Sakamoto Seiichi, please pull your

                    hands in the air over your head.

          Seiichi puts his hands up slowly but quickly goes for his

          gun. He is shot in the shoulder by Daisuke who is outside of

          the front door. Seiichi grabs his shoulder and falls to the

          ground. Daisuke walks up to him and pulls his hands behind

          him and cuffs him.

                              DAISUKE

                    You are now in the hands of the

                    police. I hope you liked life in

                    prison.

          Daisuke and Kazuo pulls Seiichi up and walks him over to one

          of the police cars and stuffs him in the backseat.

          INT. SHINOBU'S LAB. NOON.

          Shinobu is working at his computer. Daisuke and Kazuo walk

          in with two cans of coffee. Daisuke sits the cans in front

          of Shinobu.

                              SHINOBU

                    Thank you.

          Shinobu opens one can and begins to gulp it down.

                              DAISUKE

                    Seiichi has been arrested.

                              SHINOBU

                    Fantastic. Where did they take him?

                              DAISUKE

                    Right now, he is being interrogated

                    at NPA headquarters. Then after

                    that, hopefully prison.

                              KAZUO

                    What have you been working on?

                              SHINOBU

                    Locating the final boss.

                              DAISUKE

                    Enough with the video game turns.

                              SHINOBU

                    With all the events that have

                    happened, I'm starting to believe

                    our operators are making our lives

                    a living hell. Anyway, the Ku

                    sector is last, Ku meaning void. In

                    Wicca traditions that they are

                    following, void equals spirit which

                    is the element between all of the

                    others. The prefectures the first

                    four sectors were located in were

                    Kita, Edogawa, Suginami, and

                    Shinagawa. The only prefecture in

                    the middle of that circle is

                    Chiyoda.

                              DAISUKE

                    So you've been looking in their

                    records for anything on Seiichi's

                    father.

                              SHINOBU

                    Correct. I don't know the father's

                    name and none of Seiichi's records

                    lead me to him.

                              KAZUO

                    Great.

                              DAISUKE

                    He's in custody so we'll just ask

                    him.

                              SHINOBU

                    Just letting you know, he's a

                    pathological liar and a psychopath.

                              DAISUKE

                    Great. Yuuto is in the hospital

                    when we need him the most.

                              SHINOBU

                    You're just going to have to do it

                    without him. Or, better yet, video

                    tape him and then get Yuuto to

                    watch it. Maybe he can detect his

                    lies without seeing them directly.

                              KAZUO

                    We have no other choice.

          Daisuke and Kazuo leave.

          INT. HOSPITAL. NOON.

          Yuuto walks out of the bathroom dressed in a pair of sweats

          and a t-shirt. He looks over at the gurney to see Ninette

          sitting there. He limps back over to the gurney and sits

          next to her.

                              NINETTE

                    How do you feel?

          Yuuto pulls his feet up and scoots to the head of the

          gurney.

                              YUUTO

                    Fine, I guess.

                              NINETTE

                    I called Nishimura-san and told her

                    what happened.

                              YUUTO

                         (sarcastic)

                    I'm sure she was glad to hear that

                    one of her patients was suicidal.

                              NINETTE

                    Did you know she had D.I.D too?

          Yuuto looks up at her.

                              YUUTO

                    She doesn't even seem like that.

                              NINETTE

                    She said she understands what you

                    are going through, with feeling

                    empty, feeling like the alters

                    aren't there.

                              YUUTO

                    I saw them being murdered. They

                    aren't there anymore.

                              NINETTE

                    It's all in your head, Yuuto.

                              YUUTO

                    No s**t.

                              NINETTE

                    Not like that, but when you wished

                    them away, you found no need for

                    them so they descended into your

                    unconscious. They're still there

                    but they cannot be retrieved

                    easily.

                              YUUTO

                    What about Sumiko?

                              NINETTE

                    She said it was the same way with

                    her. All of them are still there.

                              YUUTO

                    The last person I want in my head

                    is her.

                              NINETTE

                    They're never going away, Yuuto.

                    You can only treat the amnesia, not

                    the alters themselves.

          Yuuto looks away from her. He holds his stomach and bends

          over. Ninette hears him crying into the sheets. She places

          her hand on his head. She starts to stroke his hair and his

          crying stops. He looks up at her and she smiles. Yuuto

          straightens up and pulls the covers over him. He lays down

          on his side facing away from her. Ninette stands and walks

          into bathroom. Yuuto hears the door slide open and looks

          over to see Daisuke and Kazuo. Daisuke has a computer bag.

                              DAISUKE

                    Yuuto, you're awake.

                              YUUTO

                    Yeah, so?

          Yuuto sits up.

                              DAISUKE

                    We have something for you to look

                    at.

          Daisuke pulls out his computer and places a disk into the

          disk tray. He brings up the video of Seiichi's interrogation

          and places the computer on Yuuto's lap.

                              DETECTIVE

                    Sakamoto-san, you do know why you

                    were arrested, correct.

                              SEIICHI

                    Should I go down a list of all the

                    illegal s**t that I've done or what

                    I've done just recently?

                              DETECTIVE

                    According to the team that has been

                    after you, you kidnapped the

                    princess of Monaco, trafficked

                    illegal weapons and drugs, and

                    murdered the security guard at your

                    apartment building.

                              SEIICHI

                    That's a toned down version of my

                    credentials.

                              DETECTIVE

                    This is no time for jokes,

                    Sakamoto-san. We are here to ask

                    you where your father is located so

                    we can bring your family down, once

                    and for all.

                              SEIICHI

                    Just go ahead and tell the only son

                    of the Sakamoto clan that you are

                    going to wipe us out.

                              YUUTO

                    This guy is more of an a*****e than

                    I thought.

                              DETECTIVE

                    Where is he located?

                              SEIICHI

                    I'm not telling you where my father

                    is.

                              DETECTIVE

                    Do you realize that you are

                    awaiting the death penalty.

          Seiichi is offended.

                              SEIICHI

                    I haven't even had a trial yet,

                    this is bullshit!

                              DETECTIVE

                    With everything we have proof of

                    you doing, you don't need a trial.

                    If you tell us where your father

                    is, we will reduce your sentence.

          Seiichi looks at the detective. Yuuto looks closer at the

          screen and backs the video up.

                              DETECTIVE

                    If you tell us where your father

                    is, we will reduce your sentence.

          Yuuto pauses the video.

                              DAISUKE

                    What is it?

                              YUUTO

                    The detective lies when he says

                    he's going to reduce the sentence.

                    You can tell by his tone of voice

                    and the shrug in his right

                    shoulder. The shrug is a natural

                    reflex of lying.

                              KAZUO

                    That's good, we thought he had lost

                    his mind.

          Yuuto continues the video.

                              SEIICHI

                    Are you serious?

                              DETECTIVE

                    We are willing to give you witness

                    protection for the information

                    about your father.

                              SEIICHI

                    You offer me freedom for my

                    father's conviction, how dare you.

                    He's not just anyone, he is my

                    father.

                              YUUTO

                    He's defensive, he's never going to

                    tell.

                              SEIICHI

                    I will not turn my father in for my

                    well being. Take me instead, I've

                    been in prison before, it's nothing

                    new.

          The video ends. Yuuto closes the computer.

                              DAISUKE

                    Did you see anything that will help

                    us?

                              YUUTO

                    He's never going to tell. He'll

                    protect his father before he

                    protects himself.

                              KAZUO

                    Fantastic. We have nothing. Not

                    even a name.

          They hear the bathroom door open and look back.

                              NINETTE

                    His father's name is Akihiro. I

                    heard the name when he was on the

                    phone with a client. It's Sakamoto

                    Akihiro.

                              KAZUO

                    Are you sure?

                              NINETTE

                    There's no harm in checking, right?

                              DAISUKE

                    Any information helps. Ishikawa,

                    you're on guard duty. Kawano will

                    come with me.

          He grabs his computer and puts it back in his bag.

                              YUUTO

                    Do you want me to do anything?

                              DAISUKE

                    Yes, I want you to rest and heal.

                    Ninette is staying here with you as

                    well.

                              YUUTO

                    Daisuke, please let me help.

                              DAISUKE

                    I'm looking out for your health. We

                    want you to get better.

                              YUUTO

                    I'm stable now, the alters are

                    gone, I can work now please.

          He tries to get get up off of the bed but winces from his

          bullet wound.

                              DAISUKE

                    Yuuto, please stay here.

          Daisuke and Kazuo exit the room, closing the door behind

          them.

          INT. SAKAMOTO MANOR. MID-AFTERNOON.

          Akihiro is in his office when one of his servants walks in.

                              SERVANT

                    Sakamoto-san, we have word that

                    your son has been arrested.

                              AKIHIRO

                    Seiichi? How?

                              SERVANT

                    He was arrested outside of his

                    apartment building.

          Akihiro paces.

                              AKIHIRO

                    I have about had it with that boy.

                    This is the second time since he's

                    taken control of the Ka Sector. He

                    cannot keep doing this.

                              SERVANT

                    It was said he was found by the

                    team that was hired to protect the

                    princess he paid to marry.

          Akihiro stops in his tracks and looks at the servant.

                              AKIHIRO

                    Really? Call Kazumi and Hayato and

                    get them to track them down. They

                    are my best hit men and will take

                    them down easily. Where is the

                    princess located? Maybe if I can

                    get some leverage, they will

                    release Seiichi.

                              SERVANT

                    The princess has not been found

                    yet. Seiichi's men have been

                    looking for her.

                              AKIHIRO

                    Alright, well do as I asked.

                              SERVANT

                    Yes sir.

          The servant exits the room.

          INT. KAZUMI AND HAYATO'S APARTMENT. MID-AFTERNOON.

          ECHIGO KAZUMI answers the phone in the living room. She

          answers in an authoritative manner.

                              KAZUMI

                    Echigo Kazumi speaking. (pause)

                    Sakamoto-san? (pause) What are the

                    names? (pause) Alright, we'll be on

                    it.

          She hangs up the phone as ECHIGO HAYATO enters.

                              HAYATO

                    Who was that?

                              KAZUMI

                    Sakamoto-san wants us to hunt down

                    some men.

                              HAYATO

                    Who?

                              KAZUMI

                    Some government agents.

          Hayato smirks.

                              HAYATO

                    Ah, big bucks.

                              KAZUMI

                    Yes, there are five, so that's

                    fifty thousand each.

                              HAYATO

                    Well, my sister...

          Hayato pulls out his 9mm and c***s it.

                              HAYATO

                    Let's get going.

          Kazumi smiles and the two leave their apartment.

          INT. JAIL. NIGHT.

          Seiichi is sitting in his jail cell. The door opens to

          reveal Hayato in a guard uniform. Seiichi stands.

                              SEIICHI

                    Hayato?

                              HAYATO

                    Let's go.

          Seiichi smirks and walks out of the cell. Hayato closes the

          door.

          INT. SEIICHI'S APARTMENT. NIGHT.

          Daisuke, Shinobu and Ryoichi are searching through the

          apartment. Daisuke is searching in the kitchen while Shinobu

          and Ryoichi are working on the living room. Shinobu has his

          usual black bag. Daisuke comes across a safe under the

          counter.

                              DAISUKE

                    Shinobu, I found a safe for you to

                    crack.

          Shinobu walks over to Daisuke and knells to get a better

          look.

                              SHINOBU

                    It's electronic. It might take me a

                    few minutes but I'll get it open.

          Daisuke rises and walks into the living room.

                              DAISUKE

                    Ryoichi, go check the rest of the

                    apartment.

                              RYOICHI

                    You got it.

          Ryoichi leaves to check out the bedroom. Shinobu attaches a

          device that is connected to a small keyboard onto the safe.

          He types in some codes and the key pad on the safe starts to

          roulette numbers. The numbers stop one at a time and when

          the four numbers are chosen, the safe unlocks. Shinobu takes

          his device off and opens the safe to reveal stacks of money.

                              SHINOBU

                    How much did Ninette give him?

                              DAISUKE

                    Did you get it open?

                              SHINOBU

                    Yeah, the money is here.

                              DAISUKE

                    It was two hundred million.

          Shinobu takes the money out and starts to count. Daisuke

          goes to check the hallway outside of the apartment and sees

          no one out there. He seems confused. Ryoichi walks back into

          the living room and sees Daisuke.

                              RYOICHI

                    There is nothing in the bedroom or

                    bathroom. Its clean. (pause) What

                    is it Daisuke?

                              DAISUKE

                    We are supposed to have some type

                    of security out in the hall.

          He walks to Ryoichi.

                              DAISUKE

                    There were two guards out there

                    when we got here.

                              RYOICHI

                    Do you think...?

          Daisuke and Ryoichi pull out their guns and walk towards the

          front door. Ryoichi peaks out of the room and looks down the

          hall.

                              RYOICHI

                    I'm not seeing anything.

                              DAISUKE

                    What the hell is going on?

          Ryoichi turns back in the room but hears something hit the

          floor behind him. He looks back and sees a grenade on the

          floor in the hall. Ryoichi runs towards Daisuke and pushes

          him down to the floor as the grenade explodes. Shinobu falls

          to the floor and covers his head. Debris flies into the

          room, covering Daisuke and Ryoichi. Once the smoke clears,

          Ryoichi and Daisuke look up at the hallway. The grenade had

          blown the front wall out and the floor has a large hole

          descending to the lower floor. Shinobu runs into the room.

                              SHINOBU

                    Are you two alright!?

                              DAISUKE

                    Yeah, we're fine.

          Ryoichi and Daisuke get up and sweep the dust off of their

          clothes.

                              SHINOBU

                    Who do you think could have done

                    it?

                              DAISUKE

                    Either we're not the only ones

                    after Seiichi or we're the ones

                    being hunted.

          INT. HOSPITAL. NIGHT.

          Yuuto is sleeping on the gurney. Ninette is sleeping in the

          chair next to him. He winces.

                              NINETTE

                         (faded, voice over)

                    Yuuto!

          Yuuto sits straight up. He is breathing heavily. He holds

          his side.

                              REI

                    She's what saved you.

          Yuuto looks over to the window and sees Rei. She smiles at

          him.

                              YUUTO

                    Rei?

                              REI

                    Yep. Did you miss us?

                              YUUTO

                    Us?

                              KATASHI

                    Rei, don't play around. He's had a

                    rough time.

          Yuuto looks back towards Ninette to see Katashi standing

          behind her.

                              YUUTO

                    Katashi?

          Katashi smiles.

                              KATASHI

                    How you doing, soldier?

          Yuuto looks at the end of the bed to see Noboro.

                              YUUTO

                    I saw you three murdered. How is it

                    that you guys are here?

                              NOBORO

                    To make a long story short, you

                    wanted us here more.

                              REI

                    You wished that we were gone but

                    when you saw us die, you felt

                    remorse. Your anger made her

                    stronger but your guilt made her

                    weaker.

                              KATASHI

                    When you thought you had lost all

                    of us, you felt too empty to live.

                    However, when you heard Ninette's

                    voice, you found that reason to

                    live so you held on. The strength

                    you wanted to get out ordered me to

                    take you over. I got you out but

                    she kept you alive.

          Yuuto looks down confused.

                              YUUTO

                    What happened to...you know...her?

                              NOBORO

                    She's still here but you won't have

                    to worry about her anymore.

                              YUUTO

                    Why?

                              NOBORO

                    You have Ninette. She can't bother

                    you as long as you have her.

                              YUUTO

                    What will happen if I lose her?

                              REI

                    We'll keep Sumiko at bay as long as

                    possible. But as long as you have a

                    reason to live, she's powerless.

                              YUUTO

                    That's all I have to do.

          Noboro nods. Yuuto smiles and looks over at Ninette.

                              YUUTO

                    A reason to live?

          He looks back over to Noboro and realizes he's gone. He

          looks for Rei and Katashi but they are gone as well. He

          smiles again.

                              YUUTO

                    Thank you.

          INT. KAZUMI AND HAYATO'S APARTMENT. MIDNIGHT.

          Seiichi is pacing back and forth in front of Kazumi and

          Hayato who are sitting on the couch. Kazumi is on her

          computer.

                              SEIICHI

                    They probably found the money, too.

                    They have my money and my wife.

                              HAYATO

                    Technically she's still your

                    fiance. The priest never finished

                    the ceremony.

          Seiichi gives Hayato a menacing look.

                              HAYATO

                    I'm just stating what she really

                    is.

                              SEIICHI

                    I don't give a s**t what our title

                    is. Without the money, she is still

                    mine.

                              KAZUMI

                    Even with the money, you still

                    claim her.

                              SEIICHI

                    Because I will have my way. God, I

                    was hoping that grenade would have

                    worked.

          Kazumi closes her computer and starts to walk out of the

          room.

                              SEIICHI

                    Where are you going?

          Kazumi stops.

                              KAZUMI

                    I know where your missing bride is.

                    I am going to retrieve her tomorrow

                    night while you two try and get rid

                    of the other members.

                              SEIICHI

                    Why don't we do it tonight?

                              KAZUMI

                    The two of you probably made the

                    team suspicious with your ingenius

                    plan to blow them up. They are

                    probably taking extra precaution

                    now and if we try anything tonight,

                    we will be fighting prepared

                    government agents. I would rather

                    catch them off guard tomorrow.

          Seiichi walks to her and turns her to him.

                              SEIICHI

                    That is not your decision to make.

                              KAZUMI

                    Then I suggest you find someone

                    else to find your princess.

          Seiichi slaps her. Hayato jumps up and pulls Seiichi to the

          floor. Seiichi stands and gets ready to punch Hayato but he

          is stopped when he sees Kazumi aiming a gun at him.

                              KAZUMI

                    We don't have to help you. We don't

                    have a problem turning you back in

                    to the police.

          Seiichi lowers his fist and Kazumi lowers her gun.

                              SEIICHI

                    Alright, we'll wait. Tomorrow, I

                    want you to spy on the princess.

                    They're probably guarding her.

                    Hayato, you and I are going to try

                    are take the other members down,

                    one by one. I've had it with all of

                    them and I want them dead.

          EXT. DAISUKE'S APARTMENT. MORNING.

          Daisuke closes the door to his apartment and locks the door.

          As he starts to walk down the hall, he sees Hayato standing

          on the other end. Hayato is holding a knife. Daisuke goes to

          grab his gun when Hayato comes running toward him. Daisuke

          aims but Hayato's path confuses him. Hayato tries to strike

          Daisuke's heart but he jumps out of the way and knees Hayato

          in the stomach. Hayato rolls out of his fall and turns back

          to Daisuke.

                              DAISUKE

                    Who the hell are you?

          Hayato goes in for another strike, Daisuke dodges again but

          Hayato turns and puts Daisuke in a choke hold. Hayato goes

          to slit Daisuke's throat but Daisuke pushes his arm away and

          out of his hold. As Daisuke's guard is down, Hayato stabs

          him in the stomach. Daisuke grabs Hayato's neck trying to

          push him away. Hayato twists the knife and pushes Daisuke to

          the floor. Daisuke rises on all fours and coughs up blood.

          Hayato kicks Daisuke in the head before walking away.

          INT/EXT. HOSPITAL. MORNING/NOON.

          Kazuo and Ryoichi are walking through the hospital and

          Kazumi catches their eye. She smirks and turns the corner.

                              RYOICHI

                    Is it just me or does she look

                    suspicious?

                              KAZUO

                    You read my mind.

          The two quickly walk toward the corner which she turned into

          and look down the hall. They see her walking into the door

          and closing it behind her. They follow her path and open the

          door she entered. The door leads to a stairwell to the

          boiler room. They close the door behind them and ready their

          guns. They slowly walk down the stairs and when the reach

          the bottom they see Kazumi with two lead pipes behind her

          back. She holds them up in front of her and gets into a

          fighting stance.

                              RYOICHI

                    Are you really serious?

          Kazumi smirks.

                              KAZUO

                    I don't think she's playing.

          Kazumi runs towards Kazuo and pushes him to the ground. His

          gun goes flying to the corner. She turns to Ryoichi and

          swings the pipes towards him in a very dancer-like manner.

          He dodges each of them. He ducks down and kicks her leg,

          throwing her down to the ground. She drops one of the pipes

          and Ryoichi quickly grabs it. She stands and points the pipe

          at him.

                              KAZUMI

                    You wanna play samurai?

                              RYOICHI

                    Can't really say I do.

          Kazuo grabs Kazumi's pipe. She pulls it back but she pulls

          him closer. Kazuo holds the pipe up to her neck, pushing her

          up against the wall and begins to choke Kazumi. She tries to

          push him away.

                              KAZUO

                    Shoot her, Ryoichi!

          Ryoichi grabs his gun and aims it at her. Kazumi kicks Kazuo

          and pushes him and the pipe away from her. Ryoichi pulls the

          trigger and the bullet hits Kazuo in the shoulder. Ryoichi

          is shocked and Kazumi swings the pipe against Kazuo's head.

          He falls over. Ryoichi aims the gun at her again and shoots

          but she dodges. She throws the pipe towards Ryoichi's head

          and it hits him in the forehead, knocking him out. Kazumi

          walks up the stairs and exits the room. Kazumi pulls out her

          phone and dials.

                              KAZUMI

                    Ishikawa and Kawano are down. I'll

                    wait for your word on Ogawa.

          She closes the phone.

          In Yuuto's room, Ninette is awake and is listening to Yuuto

          with a smile on her face.

                              YUUTO

                    You were right, they are not gone.

                    They came to see me last night. I

                    was so shocked yet so happy to see

                    them.

                              NINETTE

                    I'm glad you were able to see them.

                              YUUTO

                    Yeah.

                              NINETTE

                    Though, before now, you saw them as

                    a hassle. You saw them as

                    irritating.

                              YUUTO

                    I had lived with them so long, I

                    didn't know what it was like

                    without them. They were irritating

                    and I did want them gone. I know

                    now that I want them to stay. It's

                    not that I need them, but I want

                    them around now. I probably will

                    get sick of them again or wish they

                    weren't around but now I know they

                    are with me forever. I feel better

                    about that now.

          Ninette smiles and Yuuto smiles back.

                              YUUTO

                    Thank you.

                              NINETTE

                    For what?

                              YUUTO

                    For saving my life.

          Ninette becomes confused. Yuuto lays down and closes his

          eyes to sleep. Ninette smiles again and reaches for her

          purse.

                              NINETTE

                    Yuuto?

          Yuuto opens his eyes and looks at her.

                              NINETTE

                    I'm sorry that I did this.

          She pulls out an envelope from her purse and hands it to

          him. He takes it and sits back up.

                              YUUTO

                    What is this?

          He opens it, pulls out the letter and opens it.

                              NINETTE

                    I found a small box in your room

                    about a month ago. I found it in

                    there and I read it. I didn't think

                    you were ready to read it at that

                    time but now that you know who

                    caused your suffering, I wanted to

                    give it back to you. It's from your

                    mother.

          Yuuto looks back at her and then back at the letter.

                              YUUTO

                    Yuuto, this box contains what I

                    have left of your father. As I give

                    you this box, I have decided that

                    you must know the truth about

                    myself and why I did what I did. I

                    grew up in a unloving household. I

                    was beaten everyday without reason

                    causing me to have issues with

                    trust. I never knew love but I felt

                    something for your father that I

                    had never felt before. And when you

                    were born, I felt a much stronger

                    feeling. I didn't want to lose you

                    but because I never knew how to

                    properly raise a child, I treated

                    you the same way my parents treated

                    me.

          Yuuto stops reading.

                              NINETTE

                    Are you okay?

                              YUUTO

                    Can you read the rest of it?

          Ninette nods and takes the letter away from him. He clenches

          his sheet as she reads.

                              NINETTE

                    I hurt you but once I had realized

                    what I had done, I needed to treat

                    you. It was the only way I could

                    forgive myself for what I had done.

                    The one thing that I could not have

                    taken back was the death of your

                    father. Your father was going to

                    give you a better life. A better

                    one that I could never give you.

                    But I couldn't let him take you.

                    Once I killed him, I realized what

                    I had done to you. I messed up your

                    future and any relationship you

                    would have with me.

          Ninette starts to cry.

                              YUUTO

                    Please finish.

                              NINETTE

                    I know nothing I say or do will

                    change your mind. I know that if

                    you remember every second of what I

                    did to you, you will never forgive

                    and you will hate me. But please

                    realize that I am sorry for

                    everything I did and I will never

                    forgive myself for what I did to

                    you. By this moment, I have taken

                    my own life to take responsibility

                    for my mistakes. Please live your

                    life the best way you can and never

                    make the same mistakes I did.

                    Sincerely, your mother, Sumiko.

          Yuuto looks up at Ninette. His eyes filled with sadness.

                              YUUTO

                    You found this a month ago.

                              NINETTE

                    I know I shouldn't have taken it

                    but I saw what your were going

                    through finding out about your

                    father that I didn't want you to go

                    over the edge. I shouldn't have

                    done it. I should have given it to

                    you earlier. I feel responsible for

                    what happened to you two nights

                    ago. I'm so sorry.

          Yuuto looks at her as she cries. He reaches for her hand and

          grabs it. She looks up and sees that he is closer to her.

                              YUUTO

                    Don't be sorry. I'm glad you kept

                    it. I gave the box back to her and

                    if it was still in there, I

                    wouldn't have seen it. I'm sure if

                    I had read it before I figured

                    everything out, I wouldn't have

                    tried to commit suicide but there

                    is no way of telling. Please do not

                    blame yourself for your judgment.

          Ninette nods. Yuuto lets her go and lays back down on the 

          bed.

                              YUUTO

                    Please do not blame yourself for

                    what happened to me. It is not your

                    fault.

          He closes his eyes as Ninette walks into the bathroom.

          Around noon, Shinobu is sitting outside of Yuuto's hospital

          room. Kazumi, now in a nurse's uniform, runs towards him

          looking scared.

                              KAZUMI

                    Excuse me! Excuse me!

          Shinobu looks up at her and stands.

                              SHINOBU

                    Yes.

                              KAZUMI

                    Are you the government agent?

                              SHINOBU

                    Yes.

                              KAZUMI

                    There are two suspicious people on

                    the roof and my superior told me to

                    get you until the police got here.

                              SHINOBU

                    Alright, I'll check it out. Please

                    make sure no one enters this room.

                              KAZUMI

                    Of course.

          Shinobu walks away. Kazumi watches him until he is out of

          sight. She walks into the room and sees Yuuto sleeping.

          Ninette is sitting next to him. Kazumi pulls her left gun

          out of her pocket and points at Ninette's head.

                              KAZUMI

                    Princess Ninette.

          Ninette turns and is stunned by the gun in her face.

                              NINETTE

                    Wh..who are you?

                              KAZUMI

                    I'm here to take you back to your

                    fiance.

                              NINETTE

                    You can't make me go back.

          Kazumi quickly pulls out her right gun and aims it at Yuuto.

          Ninette jumps in front the gun pointed at Yuuto.

                              NINETTE

                    No, please don't.

                              KAZUMI

                    Then I suggest you reconsider

                    coming with me.

          Ninette looks at Yuuto.

          On the roof, Shinobu is punched by Seiichi. The punch throws

          Shinobu towards Hayato who is directly across from Seiichi.

          Hayato grabs Shinobu and punches him back to Seiichi.

          Seiichi punches him to the ground and the two begin to kick

          him. Shinobu tries to get up only to be kicked back down.

          They stop kicking him and Shinobu tries to get back up.

          Seiichi grabs Shinobu's collar and punches him to knock him

          out.

          The credit song begins to play.

          Ninette places a piece of paper in Yuuto's hand. She grabs

          her purse and walks out of the room with Kazumi.

          MONTAGE

          At Daisuke's apartment building, a woman walks out of her

          apartment to see Daisuke lying on the ground, unconscious.

          She pulls out her phone and dials for emergency.

          In the hospital's boiler room, Ryoichi struggles to get up.

          He crawls over to Kazuo and turns him over onto his back. He

          starts to drag him towards the stairs when a nurse opens the

          door and sees them.

          On the roof, Shinobu leans against the wall trying to get to

          the door. He opens the door and falls onto the stairs. He

          holds his side in pain.

          Ninette is sitting in the back of a limo with Seiichi,

          Hayato and Kazumi. She stares out of the window with fear in

          her eyes.

          Yuuto wakes up and finds the paper in his hands. He opens it

          and sees the words "I'm doing this to save all of you"

          written in Ninette's handwriting. He balls the paper up in

          his hand. He pulls the IV needle out of his wrist and begins

          to change into casual clothes. He walks out of his hospital

          room and finds an exit leading to the back of the hospital.

          He finds the government van and opens the back to find

          weapons. He grabs two guns and walks away from the van.

          There is a new found determination in him.
