Momma

Momma

A Poem by Serenity Faith
"

For my Momma! Happy Birthday!!!! ^_~ (I dare not say what age)

"
Mom, Momma, Mommy, Momma Dearest, Momma Bear, Mom, MOMMA!!!

Bear, Bearly Bear, Bear Bear, Daughter, Daughter Dearest, Pain-In-The-Butt-Daughter WHAT!?!

*Deep breath* I just wanna say....

We've had our ups and downs
as mother and child
I the youngest daughter
only drove you, slightly wild

I tried to feed the fish
once when I was three
the tank turned to oatmeal
and boy did I flee

I always made you worry
even as I got older
no stranger scared me
charmed with just one smolder

There were many nights
I'd sneak into your way
"can I put my feet on you?"
I'd ask to your dismay

The times when I were little
when you would "make the hole"
it always made me feel happy
my fears you would console

my hand you then slowly
began to let go
as I started middle school
and began to grow

I made many friends
and a few enemies
yet you were always there
with advice remedies

You always encouraged
all of my dreams
from cheering to dance
to acting and things

But then I turned
into an adolescent teen
your worst nightmare
was a drama queen

I wasn't too bad
though we argued more
I was still naive
believing I was mature

We used to say
we'd write a book together
with your witty humor
like that of Merryweather

You stood by my side
when I went my own way
secretly watching
still to this day

I've learned so many
lessons in life
about becoming a mom
and being a wife

You were me once
and Mamaw was you
listening and caring
about the things you'd do

I can never express
my sincere appreciation
for being my guidance
through times of frustration

So I guess what I'm trying
to really get through
Is simply, Momma
I will always love you.

This poem has a lot of references that only my Momma and a few relatives would get. I love explaining where they come from though, so feel free to ask if your curious!

You are a blessed one.
You have a perfect guide, friend and relative.
You have grown so sweet and graceful by the love and affection of your Momma.
Love the whole poem.
Yet this part is great.

That's so sweet. I've done that too. Tried to feed the fish and made a mess of the tank. (Killing the fish as well).
The perfect description of a mother-daughter relationship.
