The Dream Maker

The Dream Maker

A Poem by Lovecraft
"

The Dream Maker

"
Give your thoughts and fears to the Dream Maker,
Freely and without other untoward influences,
And He will then reveal your true stories,
Shedding light on that which is mired in
Shadow.

The Dream Maker is neither ally nor foe,
He will only show you fragments,
That will hurt or heal you.

Fantasy and reality will gently collide,
Harsh truths will unveil themselves,
Fond memories be remembered.

What occurs next depends on your life,
Everything that you have experienced.

Just a concept I wrote up that pertain to dreams and nightmares. I'm not sure If I should add more lines or leave it the way it is.

Gee
The older I get the less I seem to dream, unless my dreams are that bad I choose subconsciously to forget upon waking. Saying that I once dreamt I'd eaten a giant marshmallow and woke up to find my pillow missing !!

lol. Honestly I'd rather not dream at all If I had any choice in the matter.
Yes, it's always hard to know when to stop. I dream a lot myself and have always thought it is the route into our subconcious - scary! I've used dreams in quite a few of my poems and stories. I think you have pitched the length about right. You have personified your subconscious as the Dreammaker and I guess this is a poetic device.
My story 'Nemesis' is about the power of hidden memories which you might find interesting.
Cheers,
Alan

That's not so nice, lucid dreaming can be very interesting to do - but only when it's a nice one!
