I Love You Means More

I Love You Means More

A Poem by BlakPrince
"

you see love, you'll know

"

'I love you' means more than a phrase;

it's a dedicated attitude

demonstrated through nights and days,

reciprocated in gratitude.

'I love You' means common concerns

shared in compassion, care and trust,

whilst it is vital that one learns:

a cheating heart drives true love to crash.

'I love you' goes beyond sentiments

expressed only once in a while;

it sees ugliness in resentments

and beauty in a forgiving smile.

The joy uplifts, the soul is the source,

truth is the key, the heart is the core,

the bond is the gift, love is the force

the eyes will see. 'I love you' means more.

Love is often taken so lightly, and carelessly. I believe love is a verb, and includes taking care in ones actions and words. I absolutely agree with the way you have described it, and I really liked the language you use.

My favorite lines are
“it sees ugliness in resentments
and beauty in a forgiving smile.”.
They remind me of 1 Chorinthians 13, especially verse 6.

I really enjoyed reading it!

I love you does mean more than just a few words,
it is making room in your heart for some one,
it is giving kindness without expecting anything in return.
It is the joy of sharing your happiness and your hopes and dreams with some one!

It's a pretty powerful phrase, but people use it so casually nowadays. Though I found the rhythm of the poem quite distracting in the first two stanzas, the last two compensated for it. It conveys a nice message. Good writing!
